Jon should be considering a solo record. The next band album should be some way off, allowing him to reconcile with Richie and - more importantly - bin Shanks.

It all makes sense. A 'new' Bon Jovi in a studio they'd use for all the previous albums since 2002? Nope. And going back to the one where they started? It mixes well with all those THINFS themes with houses, roots, etc.

I think since 1999 - wasn't Crush already recorded at Sanctuary II?

I have to ask...when you quote things directly, where are you getting them from? I have a hell of a time searching for the words you're saying from some interview or video and usually come up flat. Where is this from?

YOVANAfromPeru 12-01-2018 07:02 PM

Cj, I’ve heard/read lot of interviews, books, magazines, etc. since 1994 and I have good memory.
-_- You’re fan since when?

It was a progression...

I've first learned about Bon Jovi when 'In And Out Of Love' got some air play...

I thought YGLABN was a good song. I was obsessed with LOAP which made me get obsessed with the album Slippery...

I equally loved New Jersey. It was around this time I became a 'Bon Jovi' fan... A year after the albums release, I started to go back and rediscover the first two albums as a whole.

Then when Blaze came out, I became a diehard and went to that next level...

If it wasn't for those first five albums, I wouldn't be here today...

Any old school die hard fan can confirm this... There was no cooler experience then driving in your car and hearing a brand new Bon Jovi song for the first time on the radio especially when you had no idea that there was a new song to begin with... Back in the day when everyone sounded like Jon, it would take a solid minute just to confirm that it was in fact him... I can't even describe the feeling. You'd go home and record the radio non stop and it would take days to finally capture it...

It happened with:
Blaze Of Glory
Levon
Please Come Home For Christmas
Always
This Ain't A Love Song (although I was aware that a knew song was coming, it premiered weeks early)

Today, you know everything and hear samples which imo, kills the experience...

Oh wow. You're questioning how much of a fan I am because you're quoting things no one can find. Again, it's a fair question, where did you see Jon's quote about Sanctuary II. I'm genuinely interested to read that interview. If it's something he actually said I don't think it's far fetched to ask for a source.

why you always think the worst from me? I never questioned how much of a fan you are, I think that quote is from the THINFS book, I’m not close to my book to check it out, right now. And if you continue treating me like this I’m not gonna respond you anymore.

"Cj, I’ve heard/read lot of interviews, books, magazines, etc. since 1994 and I have good memory.

is just a really obnoxious way to respond to someone asking where they read something. Putting it in quotes implies that you're quoting something verbatim and when nothing comes up when those words in that order are searched for, yeah, it looks fishy. If you're paraphrasing that's a whole different thing. You don't HAVE to respond to me, true. I was just curious.

Are you saying I’m “obnoxious” and “fishy”? lol I’m kidding
You said you were “just curious” and me too when I said “You’re fan since when?” same thing I said to my buddy Rdkopper (I would never could question how much of a fan he is)
General response about my quotes: I’m old, I don’t remember EXACTLY “where” I heard/read them, but they are 100% real, just like me... lol

Captain_jovi 12-02-2018 04:29 AM

Fair enough! Just please know it's very dangerous to put things in quotes and pass it off as "This is exactly how it was said" if you can't back it up and no amount of Googling can find those words.

Bravo... I never doubted you for a second...

Jon doesn't live in his NJ home anymore so he'd have to commute from NY to NJ to record which is just a pain... He also has Shanks doing half of the work virtually so again, not needed. With the exception of maybe Crush and Bounce, I don't believe all albums were recorded 100% in his studio to begin with... I'd have to go back and look at the liner notes but for some reason I'm thinking there has always been an 'and' placed after... 'Recorded at Sanctuary And ______'

I wounder if Jon autographed the dash board before he got rid of it all...

Cool. There's nothing wrong with asking for sources. Nothing. You shouldn't feel backed into a corner when you're asked, not even rudely, where you read something.

Agreed. Shanks's involvement is where Henson studios started to get involved. That interview with the engineer of What About Now makes it a little clearer what instruments were recorded where.

yep, "People think of Jon Bon Jovi's vocals and Richie's guitar when they think of Bon Jovi, but it actually is amazing how much the drums and bass contribute to the sound. When Tico and Hugh play together, it really gives you that Bon Jovi feel, and combined with the air from them having been recorded in Jon's studio, you get the Bon Jovi sound. This album has a lot of air, which all comes from that studio, which is a killer room in the top floor of a barn. You can't fake air."

Jovi98 12-06-2018 04:50 AM

Hi :),According to you the new album will really come out in the summer?

For me the album maybe could come out in October/November if we are lucky....

This House Is Not For Sale had to come out in April/May 2016, instead the album came out in November 2016, Have A Nice Day had to come out in early 2005,instead the album came out in September 2005......etc

As Shanks said here, it takes "a year, year and a half."
So do your math

HAND is a long story
and THINFS was mixed on March 2016, and JBJ always said the record would came out the first half of that year...

Hahaha.

“There’s a song called Live Your Life...it’s pretty crap and uses a load of rehashed lyrics and metaphors. Plus the production is shit too.”

The record will prob come out in September/October. We might get a single before the european tour. Once they finish the THINFS album cycle, they're gonna launch straight into the next one with a few promo shows and then a full on tour in 2020.

From there, they'll probably do the steady rythm of 50 shows a year until the next cycle

According to the most recent fanclub interview, Jon's got some new material written... He played it for Dave and Tico so it's either in the demo stage or just acoustic... He said he's going in the studio in March to record it all...
