Love Is War
What about this one?
Personally I love it. Great song. Also, which version do u prefer? I prefer the one that starts with the guitar. Much better than the one that starts with Tico and the sticks. |
Great song, but sounds a bit too much like You Give Love A Bad Name in the chorus.

Great song!!

Very good song, really like it! :D

I remember buying the Living In Sin vinyl single in 1989 and flipping the disc over to find Love Is War. I always thought it was a great Bon Jovi song.
According to Jon (or was it Richie), it was one of the first songs written after the SWW world tour. Jon was desperate to repeat the success of SWW at any cost, so he kind of re-wrote Bad Name with almost exactly the same chord progressions. (I´m not a musician myself but I understand these songs have the same basic elements.) |
I was really enthusiastic when in 1998 I bought the japanese remastered edition of New Jersey, which had "Love Is War" on the bonus disc. I was so excited about finally getting this rare track, and when I found out how great it was it became one of my favourite tracks. Never seen it too close to Bad Name, but it's a typical 80s song. I'm not sure if it would have fitted on the album, but it complemented it very well. One of my favourite B-sides!

Great song...
|
I've never heard it :(
I wonder if it's on youtube ..... |
It is on youtube :)
Sounds alright, I like the intro. The sound quality is AWFUL though, you can tell it's a demo alright, it's very very basic There's another version? Is that more complete sounding? |
It is an awesome song and should be in New Jersey, or at least in the regular version of the box set.

Check this one out --> |
I always preferred the raw demo verison to the released version, but both are awsome songs, definitely should've been on Jersey. It should've just been a double album.
|
Yeah its a great song, i love the 2 disc new jersey too:) although i have to say richie does a better job of rosie.

no - they were on the bside of the Ill be there for you single - i think they were wrote around the SWW recrding though.
jon always says he is amazed they never made any albums. |
Aloha !
Borderline was the first single for Slippery When Wet and was released in Japan shortly before You Give Love A Bad Name was released internationally. When it was released internationally it was a b-side for Bad Name. Edge Of A Broken Heart is a Slippery When Wet outtake and was released as a b-side to Livin' On A Prayer in the UK and for Wanted Dead Or Alive in Japan. It was even released as a radio single only in America. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
I love 80s demos and b-sides, however, Love Is War - nothing special for me...
|
love is war is legendry - should have replaced social disease on SWW or Love for Sale on NJ
|
After I'd written my last post, I listened to this song few times and... it's better than I thought! :)
