Hey God is a wicked piece of badassery

It rocks.

Discuss.

It's one of my favourite songs ever, not just by Bon Jovi, and the last good rock single they released.

You're right.

No discussion needed.

Such a mother****er of a song. They can't pull it off live unfortunately. The only decent version is the MTV European Awards performance. That one rocks so hard that it's dangerous.

This one here:

This is way to heavy stuff for MTV awards, and they pulled it off as just an album track at that point. I so miss the Bon Jovi that would simply do that. I can't believe it's the same band, writing songs with Big and Rich nowadays. Just sad.

Anyhow, I think it's the band's heaviest song overall. And it's one of the three songs that made me a Bon Jovi fan in the first place so it will always have a special meaning. The others are I Believe and Someday I'll be Saturday Night.

My second favourite song. It just rocks and has that certain something. I couldn't believe my ears when I (finally) heard it (again) in Munich 2008, it was one of my definitve Bon Jovi moments.

Hey God captures the band at their peak, let loose and not afraid of what MOR radio thought if it.

Best album opener too.

I disagree. I think it's one of the best live songs in their catalog.

True, they played it in Dublin last year and it melted my face.

the these days era was certainly their peak for me...
the mtv awards performance was really bad ass, back then they were on fire.

i think its kinda sad that the decade of their artistic peak imo the nineties they werent as recognised as they were in the 80s and 00s...ktf was a moderate hit album and always was a monster hit but the band as a whole didnt got the support and cudos it deserved in the 90s, was listening back to some these days demos and even if the material was nice the album tracks are trully superior...sth that didnt happen with bounce and hand demoes...anyway hey god is a great song and great album opener

Huge song, great lyrics, it rocks hard!

One of their best ones, that's for sure.

The '95 MTV performance was a great one (except for the audience -_-), but there were also other shows of that era where Hey God sounded great, especially with the middle added part after the solo!
