Sympathy For the Devil
I was listening to my mp3 collection at radom and I got to hear Sympathy For the Devil by GnR and then the BJ version from Wembly.
If we count the Stones, GnR and BJ, which is your favorite version AND WHY? (let's try to find an other reason then I'm a BJ fan therefore BJ is better!) Here's my shot at it: Its been too long since I've heard the Stones version to give elaborate comments on it. But between GnR and BJ, I prefer the BJ version because Jon's voice is less annoying the Axl Rose. Jon's had a soft and sexy voice there, while Axl was screaming as usual. ( Don't get me wrong, I love lot of GnR songs, like Welcome to the Jungle...Paradise City...and so on, but Jon's voice was superior in Sympathy.) As for the guitar, I have to admit Slash was pretty amazing...but GnR was a studio version so maybe that's why I seem to be more aware of the guitar in GnR version!!! |
It just fits very well into KTF!!

+ Jons voice fits it well!! |
I prefer GNR's version. Even over The Stones. I really love the way GNR sound. Very Rock N Roll!

The GnR version is almost the same as the Stones version. Can't really decide which I like best.

The Stonesī album version of that track is bad. I hate it. I havenīt heard GNR version so I prefer the JBJ version from 1997.

guns 'n roses version... it's heavier than bj's one, and more dirty!
it would have been great if jbj were singing and the rest of g'n'r played (but normally i prefer rs on guitars than slash). |
