Never have so many been wrong about so Much!!
This is Rumsfeld speach.. but what exactly have 'we' been wrong about??
I thought it was about time we had a bit of after the 'war' debate.... & this speech annoyed me.... The fact that we were gonna win a war against a very ill-defended country was never in doubt.... appart from Pro-War supportes who thought Iraq was a world threat. However.. Doubt 1: Where there weapons of WMD?? Unproven.... Doubt 2: Terrorist links Unproven.. or even remotely substantiated Doubt 3: Liberation or Colonisation? Some of the actions leave me in serious doubt.. Doubt 4: About the oil? Proven by the fact these were defended whilst Schools, hospitals & meseums were not defended against the looters So where have we been wrong Mr Runsfeld?? |
Well we never believed their reasons for war in the first place, so there's no reason to believe that they actually would exist...
As for the Hospital, Schools etc, well I dunno what to say... :( |

Pro-war people don't reply to posts like this until that fact is pointed out to them to 'prove' that they do. I wonder why...

hmm, thats just basic human knowledge, protect the valuable stuff...if your car was on fire, but so was your school - which are you more bothered about? |
BURN THE SCHOOL!!!
before this goes any further, for the people still against the war. it's now pretty much over and there was nothing anyone could have said or done (with the exception of saddam huessain going into exile) that woul dhave stopped the war, why still going on about it? the people of Iraq are no longer run by a dictator and they will have there own government. They're already working on the new government and it's all Iraqi's who will be in it. Now lets put the whole oil thing into perspective. Does North Korea have oil? no. does it pose a threat to the world, i think they do and whilst North Korea is alot more powerful and dangerous than Iraq, if this war makes the Koreans turn round and think "hey those guys ain't messing we better toe the line" Then i think it's been a just war. If invading a smaller weaker country will stop bigger dangerous countries then why not? It isn't as if Saddam or any of his party were angels. Oil or not these guys are cold blooded murderers and people seem to forget that pretty easilly. |

Iraq has never harmed the U.S.- the U.S. said that they feel threatened and so the highest international organization sent experts to Iraq to prove that- no-one ever found something- than Powell said:"we have clear proves that they have WMD in places we know"- the independent experts went there and didn't find anything- so Powell/Cheney/Bush said 'ok- let's go there and have a look ourselves'- bombed their way through the country to Baghdad and now that they can go where they want to and look for their weapons they don't find anything- tis is a bit strange imho... now, to prove that the U.S. aren't aggressive in any way Powell said to the iraqi ppl "the country is yours"- which really is nice of him if you think about it! the only thing that was good on this war is that they drove away Hussein but i don't think that this was an affair of the U.S.- if you find out that your neighbour beats up his wife you hopefully ain't gonna shoot him but go to the police... |
i never said anything about punishing the 3rd country.
look at it this way. some guy with a gun wants to kill u. some guy with a knife wants to kill u. you have a gun. now the smartest thing to do here is shoot the man with the knife. not as dangerous as the man with the gun and in turn the man with the gun might decide not try and kill u because they've seen what u did to someone else who was after u. it pretty much comes down to detterance. |
