Opinions?

Ok...here's my story.....

A friend of mine went for Cincinnati FC seats and got 2nd row. I was unable to go to the Cincinnati sale, so she took her husband with her to buy me a ticket. Well, the day of the sale, I talked to her and all was well, so I blew off the general on sale. When she got home, another friend of hers had assumed that she was going to buy her a ticket, and next thing you know, there were 2 of us wanting 1 ticket. Her other friend fought with her over this ticket, but I didn't. I thought we could all come to some beneficial conclusion for all concerned. Well, this other friend was completely unbending, refusing to compromise at all. It was either her way or no way...she implied that if she didn't get the ticket she would cease to be friends with my friend (this other girl and I don't really know each other very well). My friend wanted me to buy a ticket off of ebay so we all could go. I felt like I didn't have to pay a ridiculous price for a ticket since she was supposed to be getting me one, and she didn't want to alienate this other girl (I assume because this friend of hers pays for her transportation to most Jovi shows, hotels, etc. This friend also bought her the signed lithograph for $100 when they went to Philly in March). I ultimately ended up forfeiting this ticket because it was a no win situation. I am pissed off that I missed the general on sale because of her.... So....tell me, Jovitalkers, how would you have handled this mess? I haven't spoken to this friend for several days...we have shows coming up this summer where I will be sitting by them...what would you do?

BTW...this was not going to be this girl's only summer show...it will be her 7th.

don't call her your friend anymore !!

It seems like your friend (we'll refer to her as Friend A) is being manipulated by her friend (Friend B). I completely think that you were the rational mature adult in the situation, and I don't blame you for being more than a bit peeved, especially since you put all of your plans on hold because you assumed that Friend A was going to have you covered for those amazing seats. I understand your frustration with Friend A, but I think it's Friend B who's probably most to blame (I've been in situations where I've had to negotiate with friends like Friend B, and it ain't pretty). She probably belittled Friend A and made her feel guilty about the tickets, ultimately making her give in and give Friend B the second ticket. Is it fair? No. Do you have every right to be angry? Yes. Is Friend B evil? Well, from what I can see, yes. Let's hope Friend A wakes up, grows some balls, and realize who really deserves the ticket and who her true friend -- and a mature one at that -- really is.

Somebody who considers her 7th Bon Jovi ticket more important than friendship is not a good friend to this person. I think you should let this be known to Friend A, and give a good slapping to Friend B!!

And by the way, you did good

Wow, Andrea...you got all that from my post? You summed it up perfectly. I'm impressed with the way you can read between the lines! I doubt that she will wake up, however. As days go by, I get more and more angry, but I won' t make the first move. Damn, I'm pissed.

Dave, that's true...Do you know why she is fighting for this ticket? She wants to make it to 10 shows. Is that weird or what? :?

:P Let me rephrase it. It would be 2nd row where I should be standing in front of my chair during the concert. Better?
