im not nasty about anything.

ok i'll agree with Allwyn about waiting till the end of summer, lets see how many songs we can finish till the end of summer.

Adrian 05-26-2004 04:10 PM

Congrats to Arash! He got the 800th post in this topic.

I've been thinking about what you (Arash) said, and I was wondering if there might be some ways for us to get around the problem of this taking too long. Is it possible for you to record some guitar for the songs before Tawtami does the singing/original guitar work? What would you think about bringing in another guitarist to help with some of the work once the recording begins, or would you rather be the only DC guitarist?

Also, we should try and finish writing as many songs as we can by July when Tawtami comes back. Walrus, you in?

:) i didnt notice i made the 800th post in this topic!

i have no problem about recording, when summer comes im totally free and i can record everything, the problem is since sara has to do the vocals, its her who has to make the music for the lyrics so she knows how she's gonna sing it, i mean if me or anyone else make a music for one of the lyrics, how can we make sara understand how to sing it??? thats a problem, sara is busy, she cant make lots of music for the band... if she makes music, i have no problem to make and record the electric version of them...

im still wondering about a bass player, any decision has been made?

Yeah ur right, it all depend on Sara really. But as she said, she can spare time for DC too. I guess we can record some good stuff there :) .

I'm waiting for Sara's answer regarding Mike's inclusion to as bass player. If she its ok, i think we can go ahead with him.

Exams :( I'll be in here when I can, my ability and motivation to write usually changes with my mood though, so there may well be times where you'll have to do without me

Livin' in a brave new world
Can't stop and look back
Gotta move forward
I have to live in my future
Not stuck in my past

Living On Hope
Tomorrow's gonna be a better day
I know I'm gonna find a better way
I'm all alone in this world
But my spirit's free
I'm Living On Hope
Hope for tomorrow
Just livin' on a dream

Well, there's what we've got so far. I'll play with it, see what I can come up with. Anyone else want to take a shot at it, feel free to post improvements, new bits.

Adrian

Adrian 06-14-2004 01:39 AM

Haven't had a chance to work on it much, sorry. I think I've got a couple new lines though, I'll post them when I've figured them out a little more.

Life in every breath
That's all I'm askin'
Nothing less

How about that for a pre-chorus? If that works, we still have a 2nd verse to go. Anyone want to help? Arash? Walrus?

Captain Walrus 06-26-2004 12:42 AM

So..... what exactly is being worked on at the moment? Did Straight Out Of Dry County ever get finished? When we're ready for it, I've got a song idea to be worked on too, so yeah, we're gonna be a busy bunch :D I'm gonna attempt to pull a little more weight around here, although my willingness to write may be a bit tempremental. But I shall try :)

Keep On Rockin'

Adrian 06-26-2004 10:41 PM

Welcome back!

We finished SOODC (I reread it a few days ago and want to rewrite/clean up both it and Back) a while ago. Now we're on to Living On Hope, which I can't (unfortunately) seem to get a feel for. I'm just finding it hard to write.

You've got an idea for a song? Spit it out man! :D

Adrian

allmike 06-27-2004 10:46 AM

Arash 07-01-2004 01:59 PM

im still here, how is everything? just give me one more week till my exams finished, and then im totally yours....

Adrian 07-01-2004 10:35 PM

Welcome back Tawtami and Arash!

I've got some stuff I need to post regarding the band (D.C. may lose a home soon, and I'm looking for a new one), but that's gonna take a while. Meanwhile I'm still here for writing and stuff like that. I came up with a chorus for a song that's sort of an offshoot of LOH. I'll post it later, if we can't finish LOH.

Adrian

tawtami 07-06-2004 04:36 PM

what do you mean " may lose a home?"

if its anything like it sounds i may be able to help... drop me a line or somehting...

There is possbility that Peter may close the JT after summer. It may never happen, but there is big possiblity of it to happen though.

I just wishing that new add system will work for him.

tawtami 07-06-2004 05:36 PM

i read about that.... if we still want to continue if, in the worst case scenario the board does close, its possible, and i can sort that out...

tawtami 07-07-2004 04:52 PM

It is nice to hear that ur exams also got over. :D So i think Jim also not doing much. So once Sara is ready we can all go ahead.

But one question still remain, do we need a bass player or not?. Please everyone decide on that before we start.

Jim Bon Jovi 07-08-2004 04:08 AM

you really need bass in there somewhere.

we practiced tonight without our bass player and there#'s just no low end even with 2 guitars coming through marshalls into 4x 12s.

It'll just lack something and it might not be inherently noticeable as to what it is, ie people may not automatically go hmmm there's no bass in that, but people will know there's somethign not right about it.

Arash 07-08-2004 11:47 AM

ofcourse we need bass, but if there's goona be a bass player, its gonna be really hard to record the songs, cause someone new joins the band, so there's always someone more that u should explain them about chords, keys..etc... now that its only me and sara we got lots of problems...

what do u think jim if i use a pitch effect to make a bass-like sound with my guitar???

Jim Bon Jovi 07-08-2004 04:36 PM

well it's not going to be bang on and might sound a bit flabby and I find you don't get a good thump to go along with it

BUT most untrained ears won't particularly notice and we can hide it in the mix well

allmike 07-08-2004 07:02 PM

If Arash can mange then it would be better thing really coz it will save lot of time. :)

And if that idea doesn't workout and we really need a bass player then we look for one. What u guys think?

Arash 07-08-2004 07:33 PM

it will take lots of time if we gonna have another member, i dont really know what we should do.... :?

Adrian 07-08-2004 07:51 PM

If Arash can do it, I say we don't get another member. It'll take longer, and it isn't REALLY needed.

That what i meant. If u able to manage it then we don't have to think about hiring anyone really. Lets see the final result and then we see.

tawtami 07-09-2004 03:53 PM

arash or i could do it...
ive been playing with the software ive got at the moment while waiting for the house to be sorted...

im using cakewalk home studio pro 2002 and sibelius 2 in case anyone is interested. also got cubase around somewhere

Adrian 07-13-2004 11:46 PM

So where are we on recording? Is everything set up?

Adrian
