Socialists: A disgrace to democracy
alot of you know that i'm not particularly fond of communists or socialits for many reason, mostly that i just don't believe in their ideaologies.
regardless there was an election in the UK last week and the Scottish Socialist Party managed to get 6 seats. The idea of a party opposed to democracy using voting as a way to gain power is a total hypocracy but we'll not get into that. The swearing in ceremony took place on Thursday where all MP's swear allegiance to the Queen and say they will do the duties that they have been elected by the people to do. Being the Scottish Parliment alot of MSP's are opposed to the Monarchy and take the oath whilst stating that they are doing so only for the people who elected them. I agree with the Monarchy but if someones against it I can accept their views. The Socialist Party arrive dressed casual with the exception of their leader Tommy " the sunbed" Sheridan. Not only did they make their first appearance in Parliment wearing jeans, trainers and low cut tops as if they were about to go out to the pub or dancing, they made it very vocal about swearing allegiance to the Queen. One of the male MSP's started singing a Rabbie Burns song at the top of his voice as a "protest" and was duly kicked out of the chamber. Another female Socialist MSP whp turned up looking like Eastender' Kat Slater with leapord skin top and all, started shouting in ned patter " Ah'm no swearin allegiance to sumbudy thit ah dont even no, im sorry maw cos i know ye like the Queen bit ahm no wantin tae dae this" Surprisingly enough, all of them swore allegiance in the end. That was pretty long but the point i was making is that whether you agree with them or not, they are a joke and have shown themselves for what they are. Tommy Sheridan was the only Socialist member who conducted himself as an MP should. To have people like this in Parliment is a joke and they certainly think it is. If you're going to be in a position of power within a Government you play by the rules. |
i'm all for socialism/communism
i don't see how anyone can be opposed to their ideologies other than knowing that that's all they are, ideological Utopias we've never had true socialism or communism anywhere in the world |
Mao's China is probably the closest any countries ever come to proper Communism and even that fell far short of the mark.
I can respect people opinions, if you think socialisms cool then i'm OK with that but i'm opposed the actual scottish socialist party members making a mockery of the Parlimentary process. |

but who really cares they are all powerless |
communism and socialism are very good ideologies but they never had the chance to prove their theories.
have you ever studied marx? if haven't, you should. i'm against capitalism and all of its forms because there is space only for the powerful and rich. the capital is gathered to the hands of only a few individuals who use it to extend their wealth. they use the cheap working class without giving them any special social care or insurance. (of course we should say that communism and socialism is not the same thing) |
socialism is just a watered down version of communism so it seems friendly. ive studied communism and still think its wrong. id rather be poor and live free in a capitalist society than be ruled by a communist or socialist state.
not that it'll happen anytime soon but if this country ever came under socialist rule i would emmigrate. shame not every pro socialist or communist feels so strongly that they're prepared to leave their capitalist countries. |

There is no ideal society. Communism is a grand idea. But it's utopic. I have lots of respect for true communists. I wanna know what'd have happened in the USSR if Vladimir Lenin had time to objectify his vision. I have so much respect fro him. Unfortunately he had a short life. Socialism, democracy are both good. Both have + and - about them.
Why do people in capitalistic societies think that people in socialistic countries have no freedom? Propaganda. People in socialistic countries have different understanding of freedom and they are free inside the framework of their understanding of freedom. You know what I'm saying? |
wot that sounds like to me is that in communist and socialist countries the people are as free as the government will let them be.
anyways i wasnt wanting to start a debate on communism/socialism/ capitalism i was just pointing out the idiocy that is the scottish socialist party and now that they've actually achieved something (no matter how small it might be) they've gone and made total fools of themselves cos they've just come across as children trying to annoy people. |
