when did DC become a bashing board?

I believe in everyone's right to say what's on their mind, but since when did we start tearing up one another for sharing their thoughts? That's not very democratic to me.

I really like most of the people here and consider them friends. It kinda disapoints me to see this. It's almost as if new people can't join our board and share their experiences without being roasted. Have we turned into a clique?

I know we're the furthest thing there is from Backstage, but have we become so anti-Backstage that anything that remotely smells like it, we take offence to? I don't know where I am going with this anymore.

It's always been a more hostile environment than other boards I've frequented on most other topics that interest me enough to go to a message board. There are a lot of Bon Jovi fans who won't give DC the time of day because of their previous impression of the messageboard. Most of the fans I've known for years won't come here. You either have the stomach for it or you don't, I guess. It does seem that it gets more hostile though. Sometimes people are jumped on for no good reason. It's kind of sad because there are a lot of great fans here.

Theres a more liberal attitude to moderation quite simply, thats why, of course on official boards you cant post stuff saying how you think the band sucks now. But here you can, this kind of stuff leads to conflict, many people dont come here because it isnt a "safe" enviroment, here you will read stuff that you dont want to, but thats part of life.

Yup were a clique :D lol. The thing thats good about this board is that there is no road you feel you have to follow you just say what the hell you like and its accepted. Thats one of the reasons this board has become more of a community we aint forced to act in any way (some boards you know posting somethng will get you banned so dont).

Ive been on this board for yrs, and I do think it has got what you describe as more backstage bashing than before. People need to not get so worked up over Backstage, as it plays a part for a certain type of jbj fan. I respect Backstage, I just dont like , but that doesnt mean I jump over anyone who visits us from there. As doing this shows the worst of DC not the best, there are lots of plus to the DC board and I dont like that being lost on people just having a go at backstagers for no good reason.There is enough room for all types of boards on the big wide world of the internet.

This is the best place to visit in the web. I never felt anyone talking nasty about me. I love most of the people on the board. :lol:
