Wristbands for Non-members, part II

Since the original thread got a bit side-tracked, and because I thought it was an interesting discussion -- albeit a purely speculative one at this point -- I thought I'd give the issue another try with a new thread. Here is the relevant part of my last post in the original thread, mostly directed at letitrock but free for all UK show-goers to comment on. 8)

Why would you think that way? I take it that you have Gold Tickets for the gigs...right? So what makes you think that queueing wouldn't be worth the trouble? There are not gonna be thousands of fan club members at the gigs, especially now when the fan club only issues one wristband per one valid membership card. I would estimate that apart from the Hyde Park gig, which seems to be "THE Gig" to go to in Europe, there shouldn't be more than a few hundred fan club members at each show. So the worst spot the non-fan club members with Gold tickets might end up is a few rows back from the front, if they've queued up from early on and if they want to be close to the front. And there's always gonna be more room and possibly even some space at the barricade on the sides, if you're not one of those who needs to be somewhere near Jon's mic.

I really hope Backstage would post the UK fan club arrangement info soon, so that we could stop speculating about the arrangements and concentrate on the known facts instead. I understand how frustrating it must be for people like you, letitrock, who have let their membership slip because of the Gold ticket system. It's frustrating for me too, even though I'm a member and have Gold tickets for all the UK gigs. (Or, should I say, I have *bought* Gold tickets for all the gigs... I intend to give Ticketb'stard a ring soon and tell them that they better *hurry up* with my tickets!) Even though I'm quite confident that there will be similar fan club arrangements at the UK gigs as there were at the Spanish gigs and as there will be at the German gigs, I would feel a lot better if I knew exactly what we're gonna get.

In any case, the word from the Spanish gigs is that the arrangements worked really well. There was no big chaos or anything, and everyone behaved themselves quite well.

I am a FC member also and wished they'd sort something out regarding wristbands etc. I may not be using the wristband system though but i do hope something gets said and soon.
It does now suck that it is only 1 wristband per member as who im going with isnt a member. We will be there mega early though as queing is such great fun meeting everyone!

I'm guessing they will give out a limited number of wristbands to FC members and a limited amount to non FC members without GOLD tickets.

I just wish someone at Backstage would let us know whats going on. In 2001 i remember the Glasgow info being put up 2 days before! Great if thats the same this time!

How was the wristband system handled in Erfurt? Where did you line up, on the entrance or box office?
