Erfurt review
Erfurt 25th of may 2003
Boucing in Germany We arrived in Erfurt the night before around 22.30. There we just 3 other fans. We looked around and found out about the fanclub entrance. We decided all together to go and sleep outside. Good choice cause around midnight more and more people arrived. Around 6 we woke up and decided to get some breakfast and get dressed. We met some old friends and had fun. We supposed to get wristbands around 1 but later one it became around 3. And it was a mess with the fanclub entrance. We changed places 3 times and that means the list didn’t work at all. After we got in we ended up front row again on davids site. Still a good spot. The stage was impressive and amazing. Lots of lights, screens and lasers. You have to see it for yourself. But I love it. Around 19.15 live came on stage. WOW the really impressed me. I liked the a bit but now I am sold. They played 9 songs and after they left one of the bon jovi crewmembers throw a plectrum from the stage, and thanks to Hessie I got it. At 8.35 Bon Jovi entered the stage with Bounce. Now you could see that the stage was huge and that the screen was more then just a small one. I was impressed. Jon was running over the hole stage over and over again. It was amazing. Bounce was followed by You give love a bad name and wild in the streets. Cause it was still not very dark they didn’t use the lights much. They kept on going with Living on a prayer, Everyday and Runaway. Till now the setlist seemed the same as in Barcelona. All though there was more power into it today. It was amazing, no talking just rocking. Then there was that amazing version of Keep the faith. I love it. Jon makes it longer every time and nobody seems to know it. The setlist went on as it was in Barcelona with Wanted dead or alive, In these arms, It’s my life and a cool version of someday I’ll be Saturday night. Until then it rocked and there was so much power and energy in the show that everybody in the audience kept on jumping and singing along. The atmosphere was great. Finally a change in the setlist. There were the first tones of Just older. Wow the song is still impressive when Jon is singing and me I am just.. The crowed went wild and kept on rocking. Then Jon announced misunderstood as the last single. Some mistake or something?? Or didn’t he know AALY is out here in Europe? After misunderstood it was Richie’s turn to sing again, still the same song (I’ll be there for you). Richie was again great and loved the attention. The show went on with Blaze of glory and again a change…. Hook me up. I didn’t like the song on the album, but live it rocks. I have to admit that for sure. The rocked on with Born to be my baby, I’ll sleep when I’m dead and raise your hands. After that they left the stage for the first time. The came back with a song hardly nobody knew it was Heroes by David Bowie. Wow this song kicks ass. It was great to hear it. Heroes was followed by a well know song from last tour, Twist and shout and the public went crazy. Then on the lights there came all names and they screen showed tragedy shots and there came a new version of undivided, no slow start, just the rock version. The names and shots made a huge impression. But it was amazing to see the names of those who died September 11th. The show ended the same as in Barcelona with Captain Crash, Bad medicine and Shout. The concert rocked and lasted almost 2 and a half hour. It was the first outdoor show and the stage, show and power of it made a great impression. 2 done, 7 more to go…. On my way to Gelsenkirchen!!! |
That's a great review Marijke, and I agree on everything you said (except for the heroes bit ;)). Couldn't have written it better myself!!!! :D :D :D
