For those of you who need clarification - this was posted back on November 5 when the EUROPEAN DATES were initially announced - "**If there are any concerns about purchasing VIP/Gold Circle vs. regular GA seats, if you purchase VIP seats, it will get you in the front area if you don't then you may have access to the front area with wristbands depending upon capacity." THERE WILL BE NO WRISTBANDS AT THIS VENUE. Fans will be able to enter the venue beginning at 4pm via their turnstiles. Doors will be held for the general public while the fan club enters. I truly hope everything will go well, despite that "doors will be held for the General Public while the fan club enters" there... Cause it sure as hell sounds like a potential disaster in making, if our doors are basically opened at the same time as the GA doors, and the security should just hold the GA doors until we're all in. :? |
That "doors will be held" - thing worked just fine at least in Zurich where the instructions were same as in UK... but some FC members almost fücked the whole thing up. I even had to tackle one son of b!tch to the barricades cause she was running like mad to get in front of me. not gonna happen and very sorry for that and if ya read this.... I´d do it again anytime.
But the point is... don´t worry. Kevin will make sure that FC gets their priviledges properly. M |

Thing is, I have been to a show where things got screwed up pretty badly and the fan club members actually ended behind the general public in the pit. At the second Amsterdam show in 2001, the local security at Amsterdam Arena blatantly ignored all instructions and orders they were given by the Jovi crew and actually opened the GA gates before the fan club members were in. I personally got very lucky that night, cause some wonderful wonderful friends of mine had saved me a spot at the front. But there were many many teary-eyed fan club members at the Arena that night, and all because the local security had screwed up and let the general public in before the fan club members. And that's what I'm afraid of now, because of that "doors will be held" thing. But I hope you're right and everything will work out fine for us. |
all i can say is that English concerts always get screwed up by the security, I can give a few examples and these are shows where there was not even fanclub priveleges.
i suppose with dublin(?)/ibrox we will find out what goes on... but i never have much faith in English concert organisation Milton Keynes 2001 was an amazing show, but enough for me to nearly say i'd never go to a stadium show again |

What the hell happened and how come I didn't see any of it? I'm very confused, please share the details. |
well there was a bloody big concrete ramp at about 45 degrees... everyone was let in at once... pushed past the security who were taking ages checking some tickets, people were pushing from the side...
everyone did this gigantic sprint down a 45 degree ramp, people were falling over and tripping others up then for me i got to the fanclub pit where i could have been maybe 3rd or 4th row and got turned away because i had no FC card (even though in 2000 some non-FC members got in)... but also i later found non-FC members got in no problem then i was on the barrier of normal GA where everyone was pushing before the show even started. We were shouting at them to stay sat down because it will be good for us all, but they didn't listen and people kept pushing and we ended up standing from moment 1 to the very end then of course it took about 1 hour to leave the venue etc |

Im hoping to borrow someones card for Man u and Hyde Park, but if i cant i will be miffed |
Thanks for filling me in about that - it awful when stuff like that happens - sounds just like the G & R show I went to a good few years back, where there was a huge crush and I got a fractured rib by being pushed so hard against the barrier by the GA crowd.
At least with GS tickets, you'll get in the pit, so hopefully there wont be any crushing. |
i'm sorry about that - painful :o
but don't worry about these shows... i still have absolutely no faith in UK security, but even they can't screw up a concert on such a large scale they don't get much worse than they were at MK 2001 and that was still a great show, one of the best on the tour i think personally (though i'd have liked stockholm personally ;-)) |
