Undivided, a classic??

Tonight was the first time i heard UNDIVIDED much like everyone else it was the first time we got to hear the whole song. I dont know about you guys here and maybe it's just me, but i think it just might be the best song i have ever heard, now maybe it was the whole Sept 11th thing and it was emotional to hear that song. But since i heard the clip UNDIVIDED was the song i wanted to hear the most on Bounce. Now im Canadian and i know i dont have the same emotion to Sept 11 as americans do but man, tonight when jon was up there i almost cried. It is such an amazing song... let me know what you think

bounce_sucks 09-06-2002 09:32 AM

I got a copy of an album today, and how can you guys say, that everyday is great song, or undivided? I've been bon jovi fan since I don't know when, it's been for quite a few years now, but I personaly think, that this is the worth album they did, I think they sold out, and got way to big for their heads, they should go back to the roots and start writing songs as they used to, in cold basment or when they were hungry, and trying to make it, now days jon just thinking of of his money, and how many records they sold, and how may records they can sell.

I know I'm going to get flamed here like no tomorrow, but I think Jon should get himself down to the ground and stop compiting with Brittny Spears, and BackStreet boys, and who ever is the flavore of the month happens to be that month

Your spelling is great, but do you really think it is the worth album? I mean, the worth!!!

bounce_sucks 09-06-2002 01:42 PM

yeah I can't spell, but at least I'm honest about the album, not like you guys, that it has bon jovi on it, it must be great, they can't do any thing right, well THEY NOW SUCK

bounce_sucks 09-06-2002 01:43 PM

not it wasn't random album, it was bounce,

Jovian 09-06-2002 01:44 PM

i'm disappointed about 2 things: 1st- the snippets 2nd that i couldn't let the download link be a download link- should mean although i swore to myself not to download anything- i have downloaded undivided but i must honestly say that it's an amazing song and i want it to be the first single  ! it's one of bj's finest moments and it's the first time that the lyrics in a bj song are emotional about a serious topic and really make sense (despite of prayer maybe...)! and btw: this song ROCKS!!! so if you are better in the subject "patience" and you put BOUNCE into your cd players on sept. 23rd or oct 8th and push play, turn up the volume to the top and make ready for something you suppose metallica to do! the verse are real hard rock- it gets more melodic towards the bridge and in the chorus but it still stays a heavy rock song! only thing i want to critisize: richie could've done a better solo and that it's only 3:50 long...

Captain.Crash 09-06-2002 05:07 PM

to be honest i dont think you got the album, or are even a fan. i think you are trying to get under peoples skin

Wow I think Undivided is a truly amazing song .I cant really do justice to how it made me feel in words so I wont even try.all I can say is wow

Becky 09-06-2002 06:02 PM

What I heard of Undivided between the blackouts on my VH-1 feed was AMAZING! The intro Jon did to the song was wonderful. It was so poignant and inspiring. I'm really dying to get a decent copy of the VH-1 broadcast so I can hear all of it.

Norm 09-06-2002 06:14 PM

Oh yeah...I am happy you reminded me! Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys have AMAZING musicianship! WHEW! I almost forgot! Just check out the guitar solos in their songs, the thumping of the bass, the pounding of the drums, and the tickling of the ivorys!

Why is Bon Jovi trying to duplicate them?!?! LOL

Take care,
Norm

Emil 09-06-2002 06:23 PM

Why just bother about what he writes when he doesn´t like either Everyday or Undivided. I thnik this is good critic for us! If the rest of the album is like that, we´re goingo to love it! ;-)

Rosscoe 09-06-2002 06:32 PM

I think it is a good song, it has potential to be one of their best songs, but only time will tell if its their best.

p.s. Basically Bounce_Sucks I think people mean get lost, nobody wants your opinion.

I love Undivided. I preordered Bounce through Amazon and got to listen to the whole album, I personally think it rocks.
My husband is not a Bon Jovi fan, and he really likes Undivided! I hope they release this one next, it's awesome.

jedijovi 09-07-2002 01:52 AM

I am in absolute agreement about this song. Of all the 9/11 songs out there this to me says it all and I am a Bruce fan and also love The Rising. The performance of this song last night just about had me in tears- an absolutely incredible moment to hear this song now in New York City. I too want to review the tape to hear Jon's intro again.

Rachel 09-07-2002 02:04 AM

I agree Val, it was a gorgeous intro. the whole hands up in the air thing and everyone was so involved and into it, it was really an awesome blue ribbon moment in their career. It had me in tears, it was just too special for words. Now if only Directv would air a good version of 2 Min Warning!

Wait a minute - are you saying I'm not being honest when I say the album is great! Excuse me - that is my opinion. Your opinion is that it sucks and well that's your opinion. You may be a fan from way way back and that is great and wonderful - apparently you are not a fan of Bon Jovi 2002. Yes their music has changed - it is not 1986, Bounce is not Slippery When Wet - nothing is and nothing ever will be (in my opinion) but Bounce - is great! It is Bon Jovi 2002. If you want to hear what they had to write when they were hungry and in a cold basement - go listen to Slippery. Now, they ain't so hungry and they are writing in a top notch studio or a multi-million dollar home - so what? They came out with Bounce which once again proves that they are absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!

Isn't it though? I haven't been able to get it out of my head since hearing the illegal snippet off of the MTV site weeks ago and now that I have heard the entire song and seen them perform it live - I really really do like it alot! :) And Bounce and Hook Me Up, and every other song on the CD. Awesome - absolutely awesome.

AlwaysJoviGirl 09-07-2002 04:32 AM

I've listened to the whole cd on Amazon and I really think its great!! I can't wait to hear Undivided live in concert~~it is going to blow everyone away!!

 Sorry for the multiple posts!! I'm still trying to get the hang of this board!!

LittleBonJoviGirl 09-07-2002 05:38 AM

The Best!

I'm with you guys - "Undivided" is absolutely fantastic. It's not only one of the best Bon Jovi songs I've ever heard, but one of the best songs of ALL TIME that I've ever heard. The snippet I heard online didn't do it justice - I was liking the chorus, but didn't know the song in its entirety could be so powerful. The words, the melody, the instrumentals, the harmonies - I can't explain how much I am in love with this song. I get goosebumps EVERY TIME I hear it.

God bless Jon and Richie for writing that song. It's PHENOMENAL!

Captain.Crash 09-07-2002 09:19 AM

I knew i was on to something when i thought it was a classic. The performance Thursday night was breath taking.... i cant wait to hear this song in concert. They've done it again, this time it is something special,

ahhh...here we go again...I think I'd better just shut up this time before my mouth gets me into trouble. LOL

I do respect and value your opinion. I do think that whatever Jon or the band is thinking of in the 2000's is the same as he thought in the '80's , just older. (how lame of me) ;) i am sure has plenty of money to keep him happy and that isn't his primary motivation.. he probably made MORE in the 80's than now.

I missed the part of BJTV where he was in the studio saying.."yeah...good guitar riff Richie, that's gonna make us a lot of cash..." I basically saw a man who's devoted to his craft the same way he was 15 years ago. The love of the art is what usually keeps an artist working over 15 years.

DevilsSon 09-07-2002 01:53 PM

i totally agree

BON JOVI changed. How could they not change? They are all over 40 now ,they are married and most of them have children. What do you want?To sing YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME or BAD MEDICINE AGAIN ....or
"You're caught up in the danger zone
Just 17 but you act full grown".
This time is over!!!

About the music,if you listen to BON JOVI or 7800 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT or a lot of tracks on the other albums you'll se there are a lot of heavy riffs(as heavy as Everyday and Undivided).
When CRUSH came out everybody said it's too soft,to poppy. Now they make a heavy album and you say they sell out!!So what's your problem???THE LYRICS got better and the music has the same energy, power and melody that it always had.BON JOVI are great .

UNDIVIDED sounds incredibly good and it has all chances too become a classic that everybody will remember 20 years after lie PRAYER,WANTED,BLAZE OF GLORY or ALWAYS!!!
