Hyde Park Pics/short review
 

I have to say i'm a "little" dissapointed by the Hyde Park show. I think it was an awesome show if you were in the gold area near the front but from halfway to the back the sound mix was terrible and just not loud enough. I guess they had sound level restrictions.

Live's sound was louder and clearer than BJ's from where we were. Definitely not as good a show as Wembley night #2 in 2000. It was a great setlist though but i would have loved to have been closer to get into it more. It seemed only the front half of the crowd were into the show. I prefer being around others who are going mad too:).
The cool thing that saved it for me other than the setlist were the videos on the stage. Looks like they are using the same technology U2 had in 1997.

I'm really dissapointed to have missed the last 3 songs!!! There's us thinking Bad Medicine would be the last song so we wait at the back to see it end, walk out and they start These Days! and then find out on here they did 2 more songs! oh well i've seen them twice before (MK Bowl 1989/Wembley 2000) and i did get to see 2 3/4 hours. First and last time i leave before it's really OVER! i blame the Tube! they closed Hyde Park Corner and we wanted to beat the rush to get our last train.

i hope next tour they do maybe a mix of Arena and outdoor shows. Two or 3 nights at Earl's Court & Manchester Arena and then 2 or 3 outdoor shows.
Outdoor fields just don't work or big gigs unless you are near the front half, I hope the new Wembley is built by the time they come back. The Stadium sides help keep the sound in.

I so agree with you Def Def! I could just about see Jon from where I was standing (sort of right of the stage as you look at it) so i made my friends move to be able to hear him better and then we couldn't see him at all.
Wembly wil be ahrd to beat because it held real significance.however i think that they need to play somewhere which is tiered and has walls to improve sound quality. milton leynnes was too far away (for me).

jon struggles with always, especially with hayfever at the moment which is why they haven't been doing it.

And too bad cause the song totally rocks !!! i'm addicted to it ... I made a banner with it on as a request (stupid woman behind me ruined it :twisted: :twisted: ) But I'm sure he noticed it .. .Well it didn't help in Ostend but they did played it the concert after it (Well good for them of course hehe but more disappointing for me of course ... Well, if it is because of my banner (what I don't believe but hell, never know :)) ... I'm glad :d:d:d hehe
