What if...???

hi everybody!

most of the fans here have already heard Dave, Richie, or Tico singing.
imagine: if jon ever left the band for any reason. which bon jovi member would you like to see as a leadsinger???
do you think that the group would be as successful as it is today :?:

Stut 07-31-2002 04:08 PM

If Jon leaves the band, that's the end of Bon Jovi. Thatīs it! I seriously doubt that they would continue as Bon Jovi.

JoshJovi 07-31-2002 04:36 PM

I'm guessing that if Jon BON JOVI were to leave, he would probably take the BON JOVI with him.

Just a thought.

None of the above! If there's no Jon, there's no Bon Jovi. I'm sure many people would also say there's no Bon Jovi without Richie, Dave, or Tico. There's a magic in the collaboration that makes the band a band.

Sambo-Chris 07-31-2002 06:22 PM

There's no Bon Jovi without Jon. Jon said once if he would quit the band for whatever reason or would die he never would allow the others to use the bandname Bon Jovi further.

miekebj 07-31-2002 06:27 PM

There will no be a Bon Jovi without Jon, when one of them will stop, i think the rest will go there own way to

fryinpan1 07-31-2002 06:30 PM

Bon Jovi is an all or nothing band. If one were to leave, they would all join new bands or probably make solo records.

Liz 07-31-2002 07:18 PM

Bon Jovi without Jon? Impossible!

Kieets 07-31-2002 08:03 PM

I personally think the only two members absolutely necessary to stay are Jon and Richie if any of the others happen to pass away or something they'll replace them, as tough as that will be I think. They just couldn't stop after this much success.

Sad but true. Although in my opinion they are equally important members, I think "Bon Jovi" would continue making records if David or Tico would quit. I'm pretty sure people had this same discussion 15 years ago and thought if one of them would quit there would no longer be a band. Look what happened. There is no Alec but there is still Bon Jovi. I remember I was on vacation when I read about Alec leaving the band. I think it was one of the worst days in my life. But 3 studio albums later I think I got over it. Who says this can't happen again? I know this sounds terrible but I think they could replace Tico or David, too. And we would get over it one day. I don't even want to think about replacing Richie. That just makes me shudder. But you're right... no Jon, no Bon Jovi. Wouldn't make much sense, would it? Richie could be the lead singer maybe and they call themselves Sam Bora.

Amy 10-17-2002 04:51 AM

oh my................

there will definately be no BJ if Jon left, yikes! don't even say that! lol! and why would jon leave anyways, he loves his day job and his fans and the excitement he has when Jon steps on the stage at night. Amy

Rune 10-17-2002 11:48 AM

He wouldn't left the band... :? But if he did Richie, Tico and Dave had to change Bon Jovi to another band-name...

Dan 10-17-2002 02:16 PM

if jon leaves there will be no more BJ!!!
The voice of Jon is unreplaceable

datmar 10-17-2002 02:23 PM

OK, guys. I can understand you, I can't imagine BJ without Jon too, it is impossible. But this not is the answer for this totally theoretical question. Let's put it this way - what if there is no BJ anymore (yeah! I know, the end of the world, but it's only 'WHAT IF'), then who do you think should sing in the new band consisting of Richie, Dave, Tico, probably Hugh? I would say it should be Rich.

BTW: Am I the only one thinking that You Had Me From Hallo would sound better if the lead vocal would by sung Richie? It has some Undiscovered Soul feeling for me...

Well, who saw that barrage of "No Jon, No Band!" coming along!

I think you guys missed the point a bit!
True, there would never be a BJ without JBJ, or any of the others now. Too far down the road to replace a band member now!

But! It was a light hearted question, and I have not seen a single light hearted answer!

Personally, I think that Richie, Tico and Dave should stay exactly where they are, and Obie O'Brien should take over should Jon ever leave.

And if the name of the band must be changed, then all I have to say is

O'BRIEN RULE, MAN!!!!!!!!!

lmao!

Ok, if Jon were to quit and Rich, Tico and Dave wanted to carry on as a group then I can understand them changing the name, but if Jon were to die then I think it'd show respect to carry on the name Bon Jovi.

Impossible, no Bon Jovi without Jon, it just couldn't happen.

Sambora_Laura 10-17-2002 11:08 PM

i think if either jon, richie, tico or dave quit that there will be no more bon jovi ... just my thought

iwan_rasta 10-18-2002 04:11 AM

That's the end of BJ. They will be remembered as 'legend of rock'.I think, it would be like Led Zeppelin when John Bonham left the band. (He died of drugs overdose).... :(

jbjrsdc 10-18-2002 04:39 AM

Who do you think is a better singer Richie, David, or Tico? I think that would have been the question to ask, to get the response that was being looked for in this thread.

Richie by a mile for me.

Amy 10-18-2002 05:21 AM

Why are We talking about this subject....................

it is not like Jon has left the band! he is still very with us! come on people! do u really think Jon will ever leave BJ, heck no! he loves his fans and what he does, lets not put words or thoughts into jon ever leaving! Amy

Rosscoe 10-18-2002 11:04 AM

BON JOVI would not exist with out Jon, but if the need arises, then i would volunteer my services for the band.

Guys,

This has already happened - Its called Stranger in this Town by Richie (with Dave & Tico also performing on the album). & is one truely amazing album!!

Hence - If Jon were to leave, it would be tragic, I'd be gutted, but I'd still pay good money to see Richie, Tico & Dave.

I wouldn't. Of course, for me, any concert involves a lot more than $45 for a ticket. I have to take time off work, travelling all day long, getting a hotel room, and travelling back home again. I wouldn't do it for Richie, Dave, or Tico or any combination of the three. I wasn't impressed with Stranger In This Town, so if that's what would become of Bon Jovi without Jon.... I'd just stick to my Bon Jovi CDs and save my time and money that I'm willing to put into traveling for Jon solo or the band. I love Richie, Dave, and Tico and would support them as far as buying CDs, but that's as far as it would go. I hardly ever listen to Stranger or Undiscovered Soul. The bootleg video I have of a Richie solo show wasn't very exciting. I definitely wouldn't invest the amount of money it would take for a concert to attend one. I also like Tico's voice best of those three--just because it's so different than the kind of voices you usually hear on the radio. Now if they played in Jackson, I'd go... but I wouldn't make any special efforts at all.

No Jon, there is no Bon Jovi, it's as simple as that. Not just because of the name but Jon is the face and voice of this band. At the moment, I honestly think that if any of the member's were to leave, it's the end of Bon Jovi. Now, I might get flack for this but how popular was Alec? He was the less popular member of Bon Jovi and so him leaving, didn't cause too much of a fuss. Now if anyone else left, it would be different story.

NO JON, NO BON JOVI. The whole band would just stop.

Captain Crash 10-19-2002 03:24 AM

If Jon was no longer a part of Bon Jovi because of something like his death, and Richie, David, and Tico SOMEHOW managed to carry on.. (since Jon is the one with the record deal) ...

But, thinkly strangly, if Richie, Tico, and David were to carry on...................................I'd buy the albums, but I don't know about live.

Richie is a good frontman, though I don't think he's as good as Jon in vocals or just being on stage as the leader of the band..while Jon is an awesome guitar player but not as good as Richie.

Richie would be a good front man. Much better than David and Tico..............They have little experience in being frontmen.. They're always behind the keyboard and drums.

krb102 10-19-2002 08:15 AM

What? Jon is leaving Bon Jovi? Please tell me this isn't true. They are my favourite band ever in the entire world.
I don't know what I will do if this is true.

I agree with you.

I think if Jon were to die then the band'd release an album with unreleased songs with Jon. And then dissolve and earn money from Bon Jovi legacy. I don't think they are going to take a different name with another frontman. They probably will have careers in music, but not together. Brotherhood will become a legend: Once, five poor kids from a small town in New Jersey - who were supposed to become nobody - got together and defeated their destiny ...
