Shame 7800 has been binned..........
am i the only one here who thinks this album is actually pretty good?!
It contains possibly the best guitar solos on any BJ album as a whole, yet Jon seems to be frankly embarrassed by virtually all of his and the band's early work (apart from Runaway). Admittedly some stuff is unsuitable for live gigs in 2003 - BJ has successfully ditched their "hair-metal" image, and survived the cobain-grunge onslaught, but I dont understand why they've left 2 albums in the cupboard, and it's kinda hard to see them suddenly playing 'Price of Love' any time soon! :D I just think it would be nice for set lists to be more evenly spread, these days for example was the only song played of that album at Hyde Park, and they were on for 2hrs 45mins!! Stuff Lola and Raise your Hands, we need some These Days songs too! Your thoughts guys? |
I like this album very much and also the first one.
The songs are raw and edgy and just ready to explode, just like the guys did a few years later! |
it's not the one i want to listen everyday, but i like it though ... it' so different than the others

Phewww...I thought I might be the only person around who likes [actually I love] this album. JBJ has 'said' several times he's embarrassed by this [and the first one] but be damned if I understand that. No Bon Jovi/7800' - no Bon Jovi. Those 2 led to SWW. Still, he's the writer [or co writer] so I guess it's his call...but one of his best songs [re: writing] is on 7800' [IMHO] - "The Hardest Part is The Night". I'm like Donna on this album...it's the calm before the storm...and yeah, it's raw etc., but one of it's appeals is exactly that.
I would love to hear them sing THPITN.....man, I'd just be happy to see them play here...infact....they could sing Baa Baa Black Sheep and I'd be rapt...so long as they come here [one day] - there's an interesting visual....."BJ rocks the Nursery Rhymes"......I've been watching too much tv, working too hard...or something :) Cheers, S. |
its growing on me everytime i listen to it, but its not one of my favourites. i don't like the lyrics but the music is good.

i love it :D

yeah very raw...some good songs but i think generally quite average.

But I am in agreement with you about farenheit, I think it was a decent album, and by far the best of their first two. If I could hear one song live from this album it would be without doubt, tokeo Road!!! |

I have always loved it but it's part of my history and its familiar. My daughter (14) thinks it's depressing. She's at an age that likes depressing so it's ok :D
