Theory on These Days
 

The reason is simple on why they dont do any live stuff from These Days, they are all difficult songs to sing. Going through the album, the following have either high notes, or loud yells in them -

Hey God, Lie To Me
These Days, Damned
My Guitar..., Hearts Breaking Even
If Thats What it Takes, This Aint a love song
Something to believe in

Id say the easiest songs to sing off it are Diamond Ring, which they do a bit, Something for the Pain (which they regrettably never do), Letting you go.

Songs like Wild is the Wind, Dry County, Living in Sin, are also ones they rarely do now due to limitations. Its a shame....if only we could go back 12 years.

Doesn't make much sense though, because Jon sang and nailed Always when I saw him. That song isn't exactly easy to sing live either.

I dont buy that. If that were the case they wouldnt have included these days on the voting for the encore. I heard somewhere that they dont play hey god anymore cos its too depressing

I guess they personally don't like playing These Days, it isn't the most uplifting album for a concert!! I don't really care though, I love every song on it so I would want to hear it live!

he sings far tougher songs vocally with always and ITA, the reason is they don think TD is uplifting enough...

I think voice has nothing to do with it. Most (not all) of the songs on These Days aren't really the big, fun, concert songs Bon Jovi are known for doing. Also, I doubt there's a lot of band-audience interaction that can take place while performing them. These aren't exactly sing-alongs, here.
Still I wonder why they didn't do Someting for the Pain. That's as fun and catchy as These Days gets and it would certainly do well at concerts. It's also one of the few songs on the album that's not sad (note I wrote SAD, not BAD). It's a shame they haven't performed it on this tour, yet.

Jon has previously said that these days represents a dark period in his life and therefore this is why doesnt sing songs often from this album as it is not positive.

I think its because he had an affair during this period and got his head screwed up.
