Pictures of Saddams Sons...how strange

no bullet holes to head or upper torso area, immense bruising to face comperable to that of someone having taken a sustained beating.. hmm

now, in the end American forces are supposed to have blown where they were hiding up with rockets, yet theres no sign on the pictures of rocket damage (ie they're intact)

makes you wonder, did that happen? or did American spec ops storm the place, capture them, torture them extensively + then 'murder' them..

Either way - some something boardering hypocrisy if u remember those American POW's....

Still - evil men from what I hear & deserved to die.. not that this latest propoganda coup has done much good, apart from take a bit of pressure off Blair. 3 more US soldiers dead today. Thats one more than the 2 ppl paraded. Shame our so called allies can't give a bit more our way in allowing us to put our own ppl on trial.

'I know these r bad ppl' - innocent until proven guilty??

More like - 'Shoot' & ask questions later.

very strange. i saw no sign that either of them had shot themselves as was reported. a bullet through the head from such close range would have shattered the person's head.

i know it's for different reasons and a different situation but i think it's appalling that such a fuss was made over showing the two dead coalition troops lying dead, yet it's OK to show these two.

i know they are 'bad' ppl...but i never like it much when ppl say how 'great' it is that those ppl died...but at the end of the day its another life, good or bad...

Iraqis demand to see bodies of Saddam`s sons

By Michael Georgy

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqis says they are not convinced by photographs of the bodies of Saddam Hussein`s sons and are demanding the corpses should be dragged through the streets as proof the feared brothers are dead.

The grisly pictures were broadcast on Iraqi television and international satellite channels on Thursday, but many Iraqis could not see them because of power cuts plaguing the country. It didn`t seem to matter because Iraqis said photographs alone were not enough to prove Uday and Qusay were dead.

"Death is not enough. They should have been hung up on poles in a square in Baghdad so all Iraqis could see them. Then they should have died as people ate them alive," said businessman Khalil Ali. "The photographs do not mean anything."

The pictures issued by the U.S. military showed the bodies lying on plastic sheeting. Both had thick beards. Uday`s head was shaved and a wound obliterated part of his nose and upper lip. Qusay`s eyes were closed and his mouth was hanging open.

But Iraqis remained sceptical that Uday, known for cruelty and rape, and Qusay, a cold calculating killer, were gone after terrorising the country for years.

On one busy Baghdad street, an undercover policeman denounced Uday and Qusay, shortly after he and his colleagues shot their pistols and AK-47s into the air to capture a thief.

"SONS OF DOGS"

He said the brothers were "dogs and sons of dogs" when asked about the photographs. Another policeman told him not to say too much, and they sped off.

For Iraqis who had waited all day to see the photographs on television there was the frustration of yet another electricity blackout in a country still recovering from war.

"We wanted to see it and then have our wedding celebrations," said Nabeel Ahmed, 33, a wedding hall owner. "What can you do?"

Some brushed off the photographs as an American ploy to prove they were in control of Iraq, where attacks have killed 44 U.S. troops since major combat was declared over on May 1.

"This is all a deception. The Americans are just playing games," said housewife Sajida Abdel Rahim. "Besides why is it such a big deal? Don`t you think the British and Americans commit atrocities?"

While U.S. military officials see the photographs as indisputable evidence that Uday and Qusay were killed, Iraqis say they will need a lot more.

Iraqis never imagined that years of terror would ever end. So it comes as no surprise that they will not rest easy without even more evidence.

"We will believe they are dead when Uday and Qusay`s bodies are tied to cars and dragged through the streets so everybody can see them," said Muhammad, an engineer.

"These people got away with killing and terror for so many years. We never thought that anything could stop them. Not even death can touch them."

Reminds me of an anti-war protest sign: Stop Mad Cowboy Disease.

We hit the roof when they showed pics of our dead soldiers, so they had the good graces to take the pics off tv. Now we turn around and do the same thing?! I can see, maybe(and that'd be a stretch) showing them to the Iraqis, for proof. But to put them on the nightly news here?
For one of the first times in my life, I find I am unable to express myself without swearing...I won't do that here though.

Where's our moral highground now?

i know they were evil ppl but isnt it nasty how the news is saying "its great that theyre dead" cos u dont normally say its a good thing when someone dies.
