NYC opens first all gay High School

http://nypost.com/news/regionalnews/1711.htm

I was wondering what people thought of this. Good or bad?

well i'd probably get the jail if i said hey i'm going to start an all straight high school. double standards are something i can;t stand, if ur gay ur gay i dont really give a shit but i dont like it being flung in my face which goes for alot of things.

there was a gay pride march on in london over the weekend. i just sat there thinking y do they need to do something like that because they're the 1st to moan that they get treated differently u know.

If they're want to be seen as different and don't want to part of the rest of society then they should think it's pefectly fair for people to act the same way towards them...

I mean really, these people see things in a twisted way... "I want to be the same as everybody else, it doesn't make me different", and on the other hand "I need to march to show I'm different from you, and you can only do it if you're like me, I want my own schools"...

I'm all for treating minorities exactly the same way as everybody else so long as they don't see themselves as differetly. They're bloody hypocrites. Want to be treated the same when it's good for them, want to be part of their own special group when it's good for them....

i think doing this is mad, it creates division, and there are loads of employers who wont take them for jobs knowing they been to a gay school, which is real sad but true...

yes but then they'll create work places just for gays.... airlines just for gays, shops just for gays, cities just for gays.....

Like I said, if that's the way they want to go with it fine by me, but I can't understand why people want to let 'what they are' stand in the way of them being part of soceity.... It seems to me that most minority groups make themselves minorities by pressing for things like this.

It's like Jim said: double standards.
They want to be accepted but this is another way of distinguising (sp?) yourself.

Hey Mr. McRock you are finally at your place then :D

(this was a joke)
