I must have PMS

I wrote a letter to Wal-Mart complaining about my service when I dropped off film for one hour processing and it took three.

I got a phone call from a solicitor who wouldn't admit he was a telemarketor and swore at me, but was stupid enough to tell me his name. So I looked up his organization on line and filed a complaint with the financial director, the chairman, and the co-chairman, naming him and giving them the date and time of the call along with his name so they could review it if they choose.

I don't recall ever writing complaining letters to businesses before and I've done two in one day.

Need anyone verbally abused? I'm on a roll. LOL

Go Becky! I never take the time to do these things, but I always want to. Nice work. :D

good for u but nothing gets done about the majority of complaints espescially with big businesses.

actually i got complained about off a woman in work the other day because i was talking to a friend. i was behind the counter putting out drinks and fags having a talk about guitars. guys (unlike the inferior gender) have the ability to do more than one thing at a time. anyways she said i should have beend oing my job instead of talking and complained.

do i know about this because i got pulled up or disciplined for it? nope i found out because my mate overheard the woman telling my gaffer about it and he told me. so nothings been said or done about it and i wouldnt even have knew anyone had complained if my mate hadnt been listening in.

LOL. Seems to be an empidemic today. I told off someone at work because they were monopolizing the printer. Then I went to lunch at Pizza Hut (first mistake, I know!) and ordered a personal pan pizza that was served to me cold. I called their corporate headquarters and complained.

No, Jim, you didn't slip in that insult about the 'inferior gender' and not have anyone notice it.
What you witness was not females unable to do their job, assist customers without carrying on a personal conversation.
What you witnessed is a sympton of something much bigger: the death of commonsense and the cessation of customer service.
People hired to do some jobs don't know how to do a good job, take it seriously, treat the customers well and be conscientious.
But for as many good points as you had, you lost me on that 'benign' slight.
You may say (as so many others on this site say) I have no sense of humor (or Humour for those of you inclined to drop a random U into words that please you) however the slam did not go unnoticed.

I abuse telemarketers when they call all the time.
If you don't know my name, don't call.
If you mispronounce my name, don't call.
if you need to talk to me at 8:30AM while I'm in bed on a Saturday morning, you better be in bed with me. Otherwise, I don't want to talk to you, let alone buy anything from you.

Doesnt America have a telephone preference service?

that way, if they ring you they are breaking the law

Derek Bliss 07-30-2003 06:34 AM

They just started a service to register your number as one to which telemarketers can't call. Not sure how well it's working so far...
They did have that zapper unit for a while but that's not really a solution.
But somewhere along the line, when did it become OK to call during family dinner? Early on Saturday morning.
Or there's a new tactic. They call and ask you in a very friendly, excited voice by your first name and when you say "this is he" because they don't sound like traditional telemarketersthen they tell you who they are. That's a bit foward.
They're a plague.

Mongoose 07-30-2003 06:39 AM

we at least yours are American

80% of the people that call us are sitting in India

very strange

ShaSha 07-30-2003 06:57 AM

I saw something on tv recently about how some companies hire prison inmates to work as telemarketers. So one of those pleasant-sounding people calling you during your family dinner could in fact be a convicted mass murderer..

Tashjbj 07-30-2003 11:45 AM

That's scary.. prisoners calling me?? Knowing my number??

I got a phonecall recently from one of those telemarketeers which kind of surprised me as I have an unlisted number, because I don't want to be called by telemarketeers.. anyway, I asked her how she got my number, she then said, they just have the same 7 digits and then change the combinations!! Well.. I gave her abuse for that one.. I mean.. I have an unlisted number for a reason!!

By the way, Jim.. it is common knowledge that women can DO multiple things at the same time and men can't.. to prove this, try watching football and having a conversation at the same time, you'll fail miserably!
