I actually listened to AALY while driving this afternoon and it occurred to me that it's the kind of song I'd probably like if I was in a sappy relationship and had someone to be sappy about. However, having had nothing more than a mere crush since my heart was trampled on by Mr. I Thought He Was Right and Boy Did I Think Wrong, I don't think the song appeals to me because at one point I could relate to it and now I can't. We'll refere to that feeling as "jaded" in the poll. LOL I know of one person who really loves the song and she's happily married. So, I wonder if there's a correlation between liking/disliking AALY and a fan's personal relationship status. Let's gather some data.

I hate/dislike the song and I am TRYING TO START a good relationship.

I dont mind the song and im not seeing anyone. I could see this song being popular for a newly married couples first dance at a wedding somehow, (not mine though :o )

I really like the song, am not in a relationship. Even though I too had my heart trampled on by Becky's guy's brother (or so it would seem), I'm not jaded as then I feel that I am giving him the power over my feelings. You love and sometimes you lose.. c'est la vie, although it isn't nice. I just hope my next relationship will be better.

Very interesting poll Becky, good one :D Really interesting to see how this turns up... You could do similar ones for other songs, would be interesting to see the results. Thinking about it, it's really interesting how your situation in life affects the way you portray songs differently... (example, didn't like Hearts breaking even or Open all night too much until a situation in life when they were very fitting, so started liking them and still do...)...

Well anyways, I don't like the song and am not in a relationship. (Just to be fair tho, I was in a fairly good relationship when the song came out and still didn't think it was good.)
