No More Acoustic Shows!

Bon jovi.com have confimed the rest of the tour is back to normal - no more acoustic shows.
I seems after yesterdays terrible concert, the band has seen sense and got the message that acoustic dosen't work!

URGENT UPDATE FOR SARATOGA AND HARTFORD SHOWS!!!
(Saturday, August 2, 2003)

As of this moment, the upcoming concerts in SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK (at SPAC) and in HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT (at The Meadows) will NOT be half acoustic and half electric. SARATOGA and HARTFORD will be FULL-BLOWN ELECTRIC CONCERTS FOR THE ENTIRE CONCERT. There is no acoustic opening.

Uh, not to burst your bubble but as bad as last night's show supposedly was, how do you manage to pronounce that as an epiphany that the band realized ' acoustic doesn't work'? That what you believe, having not been to an acoustic/electric show and you're just using that announcement as some sort of backup on your personal opinion which is, after all, just your opinion from overseas and not a statement of fact.

JoviForever 08-02-2003 09:33 PM

That's deep.
I've read enough reviews from people who have attended these shows, where they have said the crowd was 'not into it.'
Bon Jovi are performing for the masses, not just a small number of die-hards that are attending the concerts that are enjoying the acoustic part.
It is just my lowly opinion that acoustic shows should be for very small crowds, in theatres etc. Not big outside venues for 10,000 people plus.

I was at the concert and as a Bon Jovi fan, I thought the acoustic portion was awesome. But if you were just a "casual" BJ fan. It would not have been all that. I personally thought it was the highlight of the show. But most people there wanted the electric and didn't appreciate the acoustic aspect.

Derek Bliss 08-02-2003 11:05 PM

Right... see, you get it now. That's your OPINION.
As opposed to posting that the band 'got the message' that it didn't work and therefore changed their plans. Sitting in Reading, England having not attended the show does not qualify you to make declarative statements as to what or why the band does what they do now, does it?
Read all you like. Until you sit at an acoustic/electric show, my OPINION is that your opinion is not holding much water.

Too funny!

So Derek, your allowed your opinion, why is it that no-one else is allowed theres?

yes thats the point he is trying to make, damn yankee  (most of the USA people are good though with exception of some)

I, for one, am disappointed. I usually prefer the electric concerts but I thought that something different would be - well - different. I am not the casual fan however.
What made last nights concert terrible? I hadn't heard that.

I don't think that the reason. The acoustic worked just fine at the 2 acoustic/electric shows I attended....and there were over 30,000 at each one. What I think is that Jon was having trouble last night and there have been equipment problems at the last few shows, not just last night. But being the perfectionist we all know him to be, he probably doesn't want a repeat of last night and decided to stick to the electric sets. He was mad about something...it was very obvious he was pissed off.
