Ok - so this is pretty huge in the UK at the moment...

Views, issues, concerns on the subject??

I applaud the BBC for actually getting the question out into the open - what was the case for war, & were we lied to - whether it proves to be right or not, at least we have a public enquiry of sorts.. even if it is fairly narrow?? Its just such a shame that Dr Kelly was then revealed (by the government), & bullied into committing suicide.

I am very interested as to the outcome of this case.... & it has already shown deciet & underhanded tactics by the Gov't with the Walter Mitty slur.

That said, Giligan was criticised today for his repor by a BBC head - yet I am very interested as to what is on the tapes & it seems that even if Mr Gilligans story was inappropriate - it was accurate.

The truth should be heard esp. if we r being lied & manipulated into a war.

quite frankly its one big MESS....and taken too many innocent lives...and made a respected guy with a family commit suicide.... :cry:

the biggest fiend IMO is gilligan or whatever the reporter is called.

under no circumstances is a reporter supposed to reveal his sources and he did. fair enough he might have been bullied into it but in the bloody sunday enquiry there were several reporters being asked by the courts to reveal their sources or go to jail for contempt of court and none of them would as it's an unwritten journalism rule.

sad state of affairs any day of the week.

I cant say that ive been following this on the news. All i know is the Government is sad representation of the UK and has been for quite sometime!

Bring back thatcher. even in her decrepid state she'd still kick arse n show who;s boss.

Ermmm Gilligan didn't reveal his source.... not until after the suicide.

the reason he was found out was because gilligan leaked his sources. it might not have been made totally public until after dr kelly killed himself but gillingham did reveal his sources thats y he's being pulled up.

as for thatcher. u can say what u like about her and she did do alot of damage but she also did alot of great things and made Britain one of the strongest countries in the world again.

Just goes to show even in this day and age who manipulative, devious and uncaring the majority of people in positions of influence are.

The whole "i dont care who I am going to hurt on my way to the top approach"
