How did livin in sin sound electric?
I am very curious how it did sound at giants and at hartford, was it any good?

I thought it sounded great at Giants. I was just so happy to hear it. But Jon sang it well. After I get the DVD, I can check for sure.

I heard it in both places. It was such a surprise at Hartford that we were not sure what it was when Tico first started the drumbeat. I think I'd have to give the Hartford performance a slight edge but only because it was a much smaller venue and everyone was closer to the stage. The audience in Hartford (at least around where I was sitting) didn't seem to appreciate it much - but I sure did. And I thought the electric arrangement was quite effective. Certainly it worked better at Giants than an acoustic would have.

Oh Amy - I was thinking of you on Thursday night. To come all the way from Texas to get completely soaked - Geeze. Fortunately Friday night was not a repeat weather performance. The weather here this summer has been very wet - but considering the heat that everyone else seems to be getting, I'm not going to complain (too much).
One of the comments that I made after the Hartford concert was that it was a great dress rehersal for Giants. It turned out to be the case for night 2 anyway. Kathleen |

It sounded great at both shows. I thought it sounded a little better in Hartford but, as Kathleen said, that probably had a lot to do with the venue. And even though it wasn't a total surprise for me (Jon made a big deal about pointing at one of the signs someone had for it and giving a thumbs up and winking and nodding earlier in the show so I sort of knew they'd play it) it was so awesome to hear the electric version for the first time. :) Unfortunately a lot of other people didn't seem to know what it was. :(

I thought I read it somewhere else too that the overall reaction to songs like Living In Sin, Something To Believe In, I'd Die For You and Diamond Ring etc wasn't really all THAT spectactular at the US shows. The die-hards (=people from the Backstage Board basically) were over the moon for them of course, but the majority of the crowd were not really into them at all. Have I understood things wrong, or was it actually that way over there? |
