river city

just wondering if the west of scotland is the only region unlucky enough to get hit with glasgows version of el dorado?

if we are then river city happens to be a "soap" (sure trading standards would have something to say about that) set just outside Glasgow.

the actings terrible even though its been on for nearly a year and the stories are dire. eastenders is getting a bad rap just now. phil mitchell could do shakespeare compared to the eejits who're on this.

theyve started showing an omnibus on sundays and i was unlucky enough o have to sit through 10 minutes of it this morningl. in this space of time we had neds' people talking about swallying, super lager, someone drinking buckfast, talking about screwing the social by claiming disability, the proclaimers, use of the word tim (glaswegian for catholic), use of the word chookter and talk about irn bru and the ifnnieston crane.

it;s as if they have to remind us every 3 seconds that its set in Glasgow. i mean as far as it goes it is a pretty scummy place but i dont know what we've done to deserve this.

It cant possibly be worse than family affairs, my mate watches that every night so i make sure im not at her house between 6-6.30!!!

But then you did give us "take the high road" which was really bad too. In fact the only good thing that Glasgow ever gave us was trainspotting :D

no man besides river city family affairs looks mega high budget and professional and i really wish i was joking but i'm not.

and trainspotting was set in edinburgh. only bits from glasgow was the bus station that was in buchannan street but even then im not sure if it was supposed to be glasgow or not.
