a big shout to all the irish people
Last night i went out with a mate from work, after several pints i was brave enough to endure a SAMBUCA, also buying one for my friend, not having a lighter and wanting to set fire to this drink i asked around the bar for a light, an older irish guy decided to light our SAMBUCA, after drinking this he then decided to order us a whiskey, then his friend ordered a rum, then we ordered another sambuca, followed by another rum, whiskey.
This morning my kidneys hurt, my head hurts but i just wanna say, everytime i end up drinking with irish folk i have a great night. I just wanna say thank you for being cool! I never met a nasty irish person yet!!! |

the irish drink like noboduies business. ive been over there and seen 9 year olds with cans of lager.
nasty stuff, sambuca. my bro was on a night out a few onths ago and ended upon it and thought someone had spiked his drink cos he ended upc rawling home and not remembering a thing. y does no one in newcastle wear coats when they go out? you battered dec? he looks about 5 foot and probably weighs about 4 stone. was he famous when u fought him? kinda stingy if u started a fight just cos he's on the telly. someone tried to start a fight with scott harrison the other week and he totally mauled them. been in all the papers here cos he lives just down the road (literaly). kinda makes u wonder what kind of idiot would purposely start a fight with a world championship boxer. |
i didn't start with dec cos he was on telly
My girlfriend and i were in a bar and she was a bit star struck so i told her to go over and talk to them, we all sat at a table, after about an hour he started getting a bit toooo touchy , my girlfriend moved and he said "whats the matter, i can get anyone, your no exception" he was still young and niave then, it was 1995. I would have done that to anyone if they had done that regardless of status, size, i was offended that he offended my girlfriend. As for not wearing coats, we do it to make sunderland look soft cos they all wear coats in the middle of summer, even at their FIRST DIVISION matches lol  |
ah well if he was being a pleb then it's all game.
whats there to do in newcastle? mne n my guirlfriend need to get the ship to norway from there so r going to be hanging about for the day. no doubt she'll want to go shopping but apart from wasting my money, whats there to do in the city centreduring the day? |
It depends what sort of day you want, with or without beer.
In terms of shopping there are a few options. The city centre is getting quite trendy, eldon square is a big shopping mall in the middle of the town, Northumberland street is much like Oxford Street in London, a lot smaller though!!! The Metrocentre in Gateshead used to be the biggest mall in Europe, it has loads of variety in it and has spanish cafe's things like that. The Royal Quays is in North Shields, thats where you get the ferry from, this is a cheap factory outlet place where you get brand names cheaper, again plenty of variety. You can also get a ferry across the Tyne to South Shields and go to the beach if the weather is nice. If your having a few drinks the best places to go are the Quayside and Jesmond, We have the bigg market but its a bit tacky!!!!!! You have massive hills to walk up from the quayside as Newcastle is quite steep. There is also the coast, Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, again, if its nice you can walk right along from Whitley Bay up to North Sheilds, you will see the twin piers at Tynmeouth and the Castle. The Castle in NEWCASTLE isn't very good, its tiny!!! Its no wonder the Scots kept getting the better of us!!! LOL the best thing to do is go to our tourist board in Newcastle Central Station, they have loads of leaflets, if i think of anything else i will PM you, plus if you go for a drink in Jesmond let me know and i will buy you both a pint cos that s where i drink all the time!!!! LOL |
booeked my bus ticket today. to be honest my plan would be to sit in a pub and let her go n squander more money on crap but i doubt she'll let me enjoy one of my little pleasures

Irish people are great. We met a group on holiday a few years ago and had a fantasic time. We went to Dublin this year for Bon Jovi and everyone made us feel welcome and seemed really friendly. I agree with you ive never met a nasty Irish person.
