Dry County "Fantasy NFL Football" - Week 1 Preview

Guys,

The season is almost upon us with the NY Jets and Washington doing battle on Thursday. The match-ups for Week 1 of the Dry County Championships are as follows:

Hellmans Heroes v's Suicidal 10den-cs
Interesting match-up that could come down to the battle of the running backs Holmes (Hellman) versus Williams (Suicidal) - I'm leaning towards the Hellman because well...... I am the hellman!

Choclady v's Captain Crash
Choc will be hoping Steve "Air" McNair lives up to his name whilst tHe Captain will rely heavily on Jeff Garcia leading the 49'ers to victory. I'm tipping Choc to bring home the bacon

Robins Merry Yanks v's Arm Hair Eaters
Mike will be hoping his NFL Team performs better than his fantasy soccer team whilst Arm Hair will probably be out herding goats and miss the entire game. Iron Mmike in a close one.

Mouses v's The A-Team
No doubt Mousies hubby will be putting his 2 cents worth in when it comes to team selection, although playing Stewart at running back may come back to haunt him as my mail suggests he is out injured (hint hint!). Christo on the other hand has gone for a combination of speed and strength, although he too has injury problems with Michael Bennett also injured (hint hint!). I expect Christo to do the Aussies proud in another close one.

Shauns Wildcats v's JoviJets
Shaun has put his faith in rookie Quarterback Carson Palmer but I believe Drew Bledsoe would be a better option (hint hint!) as Palmer is unlikely to start. The JoviJets on the other hand look strong, especially with Bruce, Stallworth and Bradford at Wide Reciever. I expect the JoviJets to take the points.

Warriors v's Beauty Queens
The Warriors look very strong all over the park. I expect Michael Vick to shine in this match. The Beauty Queens however have been struck with injury with Quarterback Chad Pennington sidelined for 12 weeks (hint hint!). Patrick Ramsay should come off the bench to replace him. I'm tipping the Warriors to beat an injury plagued Beauty Queens.

Harlems Rain v's The Toronto CRUSH
Harlems Rain will hoping Donovan McNabb can repeat his stellar form from last season. He leads an impressive and sizable offence which includes Jerome Bettis. The CRUSH has a problem with Jimmy Smith likely to miss the first 4 games of the season on a substance abuse suspension. As we in the DC League promote drug free sport I suggest a replacement should be found (hint hint!). I'm tipping the Warriors size to get them over the top in this one.

Jenns Jovi Jocks v's ALLMIKE
Jenns in depth knowledge of NFL has her posted as one of the favourites to win the DC Championships and this week she has picked a powerful line-up. ALLMIKE goes into this match very much the underdog but with Kurt Warner as your Quarterback nothing is impossible. I'm tipping Jenn but only just.

Good Luck all............

PS. Where possible I have hinted at injuries and non-starters to help everybody out. Can I suggest that prior to each gameweek (Thursday for Week 1) you check on your roster and drop injured players to your bench or aqquire a replacement - it's pretty easy to do. I just don't want to be held accountable or called biased if I miss one is all. If you need help pm me - it's all for fun! Cheers! :P
