Solo Tours

I found an old video of when Jon played a gig in London to promote Destination anywhere and it looked really good. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen a Jon/Richie solo show?? How does it compare to a group performance??

Also, if J or R announced any solo dates, which would you go to?? Id def go see Jon, not sure about Richie on his own I guess it would depend how far id have to travel.

I went to see Jon a lot of times during his solotour...I did enjoy of course, Othrewise I wouldn`t go, but to me it was not even half so good as a Bon Jovi show. I saw Richie too and I must say..I enjoyed Richie more, but still There is nothing better then a Bon JOvi show. To me..I hop ethey won`t be doing any solo again. I will go absolutely, but.....PLEASE GIVE ME A WHOLE BAND>>NO SOLO
But well, they won`t listen to me will they???

I saw Jon solo and acoustic, and honestly, it was the best show I've ever seen--but it was a special situation. It was more intimate and he took questions from the audience. I LOVE when he plays acoustically, so just seeing that made the show stand apart and above "normal" concerts.
I would definitely travel to see Jon if he did a solo tour. He's an incredible singer and performer, no matter who his backing band is.

I wouldn't travel to see Richie unless it was over the summer and I could get a cheap hotel rate. I definitely would not take time off work or fly and invest the cost of a hotel room to see him, and God knows, he'd never play in Jackson or the surrounding areas. I don't even like his solo CDs, so I'd only go if it were really convenient. It's not like he'd ever be playing locally. If he did, I'd certainly go since my only expense would be the tickets for me and whoever I could get to drive me.

I saw Jon in the same situation, and it was great. One of the most memorable shows that I have been too. :D

I've seen Jon 2 x and Richie 4 x in 1998 (Jon also in 1997 once). Jon was good and the show in 1997 in the small club in Hamburg was something special for sure but Richie was absolutely phantastic. The best tour I've ever been.

For a Richie solo-tour: Name the place and I'll be there, no matter where it is.

I probably also would go to see Jon once or twice but not a whole tour and I wouldn't go to a foreign country for this.

A comparison to the band shows is a little difficult. You only can compare how they played the BJ-songs and Jon sang and played them the same way as with BJ so Richie's voice was absolutely missing. Richie has his own interpretation of the songs where Jon's voice wasn't missing.

I almost saw Jon in Toronto during the Destination Anywhere tour, but I wasn't able to get tickets. If Jon went out on a solo tour, I would definetely get tickets. Blaze of Glory and Destination Anywhere are good CDs and I like most of the songs. As for seeing Ritchie, like Becky said, only if it was really convenient. I don't want to offend any Ritchie fans but I wouldn't go out of my way to get tickets.
