BIOGRAPHY: JON BON JOVI: IT'S HIS LIFE profiles the rise to fame of the musician and actor who, born in the working class town of Sayreville, New Jersey, set his sights on being a rock star at the age of 13. In the early '80s, he created the band Bon Jovi. Once thought to be just another "hair" band, Bon Jovi rocked the world with smash albums such as Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. As the '80s were fading, Jon and his band almost faded with it - years of touring had burned them out. But nothing would stand in the way of Bon Jovi's ambition.
BIOGRAPHY: JON BON JOVI: IT'S HIS LIFE recalls that as the new decade began Bon Jovi fired his longtime manager, cut off his famous mane, and morphed his music from the '80s to the '90s. In his first solo effort, Blaze of Glory, he won a 1991 Golden Globe. Jon then caught the acting bug and made a successful leap into movies with Moonlight & Valentino. But music remains his first love. The soon-to-be released album, Bounce, is the band's ninth studio album. The group has sold over 80 million albums, and are still going strong. Yet despite all the pressures of his career, Bon Jovi's wife Dorothea and his three children remain his top priorities. Jon's also active in many charities and causes like the Special Olympics. Interviews include Bon Jovi's parents, his two brothers, band members, actress Calista Flockhart, singer/songwriter Elton John, and former Vice President Al Gore.
