a thing or 2 bout richie

i read some site saying that:
1) richie broke his nose in a car accident at 19
2) richie is colour blind
i wonder if this is all true...any ideas out there?

There's an audio tape interview where Richie talked about breaking his nose while riding a motorcycle. I think it's from the KTF era.

Ah, but did he ever talk about being colorblind? I've heard he is- from several sources actually- but I wonder if it's just a rumor.

Yes, he's talked about being color blind. The example that comes to mind first is something from his fan club newsletter where someone asked, "If you're red/green color blind, how can you tell the difference with a traffic light?" and he gave the wonderfully sarcastic smartass answer of "Red's on top; green's on the bottom." It was something to that effect anyway. It cracked me up.

So, if he can't see red or green, what does he see instead? And what about colors like orange-red or blue-green?
