Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Ok, i wanted to make this a Poll however it seems everything lately is a poll, and since polls ususally dont generate alot of discussion i would like to throw this out for a talk... we all know Bon Jovi deserves to be inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame in 2009. HOWEVER, the question is, DO YOU THINK THE BAND WILL GET IN? try to put all biases aside because we do love the band, and honestly answer this question objectively. My opinion is that there is no guarentee and i feel the band would have to do much more than they are doing now to make it in in 2009... you may all proceed.

why should bon jovi get into the rock and roll hall of fame?

Bon jovi is just another rock band, there is nothing special with bon jovi or their music (besides the fact that they play good music), but nothing unique. but of course, i don't know what kind of qualification that a band need to get into rock and roll hall of fame, perhaps 25 years and 110 million sold albums??

If this were sports the question would be, did the player have a ggod enough career to deserve it? were the statistics good enough, 25 years and 110 million albums should answer your own question.

How can one minute u go on about BJ changing their style over the years to make them sound different from all the other 80's bands u so love....

& then claim they r just another rock band & nothing unique??

They should get in because they have been a major live draw over the past 15 -20 years, have sold nearly 100 million albums, have had defining moments - such as being one of the most remembered Pop metal pioneers, the MTV acoustic things & the fact they will still be together after 25 years.

i try to get away from the question "SHOULD THEY" and i am asking "DO YOU THINK THEY WILL"

They have to have sold 110 million albums? I didn't know that. I just thought they had to have been around 25 years after the release of their debut album.

Bon Jovi is not a critic's band. I don't think they will get inducted right away, it might take a few years for people to realize, "Hey, this band has been around forever. They do deserve something."

I agree about that Bon Jovi is not a critic's band. Critics tend to slam albums like SWW because Bon Jovi was just another hairband at that time. I would love to see Bon Jovi get inducted into the Hall of Fame. There aren't many bands out there that can boast 100 million albums sold or consistenly sold out tours. Someday, though, Bon Jovi will be in the Hall of Fame!
