duck apple is where you get a big bow of water and place an apple in the water which float, buts its almost impossible to actually bite into the apple to take a piece. Coz as your teath touch the apple, it sinks and its really hard to take a bite. You should do it topless, coz your top could get rather wet if you try it. :P

> has never been trick or treating and at the age of 20 isnt gonna start

That is the Metropolitan Cathedral (aka Paddy's Wigwam), and is situated right next to the building in which I am undertaking my study of Architecture. Good thing to have as inspiration everyday, lol.

Tashjbj 10-31-2003 11:41 PM

Quite lucky then really!!

Tash

Kev 10-31-2003 11:51 PM

thats the pic i was looking for, couldnt find, then forgot. cheers neil.

Yeah, we have two main cathedrals here in liverpool....both are HUGE

Thomas Anderson 10-31-2003 11:53 PM

I haven't been to the other one yet, but I will do soon probably.

This week I'll go into the Metropolitan one again and get some photos from inside. The top of the roof and parts of the side are stained glass, ad it casts some great light into the building.

It's actually lager on the inside that it looks from the outside, and what appears to be stone support columns around the edge are actually steel with panels on the outside to make it look like stone, lol.

Apparently it's the largest interior space in any cathedral in Europe.

Kev 11-01-2003 12:09 AM

Thomas Anderson 11-01-2003 12:13 AM

Once they've finished cleaning it St Georges Hall will look good, and there are a few other buildings near there that are good, but I don't know the names of them, lol.

I spend a lot of my time in shops and the library though, lol, so I haven't been around the city too much, or at least not too far from the city center.

What do you like about St Helens? lol (presuming you've been)

Kev 11-01-2003 12:23 AM
