GAH I'm SUCH an old maid now

My best friend since pre-school just called and asked me to be her maid of honor next September. This is the one girl who I thought would NEVER get married before me because she's not the marrying type.

Scarier than that is now, if I ever do get married, I won't be able to avoid a bridal party uproar by asking Kelly to be Maid of Honor and Julie to be Matron of Honor since they'll both be married. LOL I'll have to pick one or the other.

Ok really dumb question time, whats the difference between a matron of honour and a maid of honour?

My sister only had bridesmaid, arent they all the same?!

One is a married chick and one is an unmarried chick.

Maid=old maid...no just not married. :P

Well thank you for clearing that one up 8)

BUT, why not just call them bridesmaids?

Bridesmaids are the rest of the girls in the wedding party. You know, the ones that weren't important enough to be maid of honor. :wink: They just have to pay for stuff. The maid of honor has to arrange everything.

LOL! Thanks for clearing that up too :)

But when i was bridesmaid, i didnt have to pay for anything!

Well, basically the dress you wear and the shower gift. Sometimes they pay for the wedding shower, but that depends. My mom shelled out the dough for mine. :D

Ah right, makes more sense now, cheers.
