UK students: anyone use blackboard???

k so i've finally got off my arse and logged onto blackboard in UNI.

i dont know if it's just a scotland or uk wide thing but its basicaly a big website for students.

you get a user name and when u log on u get lecture notes and stuff from ur tutors and important notices etc... sent to your account so u can print them off and find out whats happening.

k so i log on in uni today, print some stuff off to do here and then decide i'll jump on it from the house and email one of the lecturers about a tutorial/ seminar timetable clash 2moro.

so now i'm tryign to log on and it won't let me. keeps saying my username or password is incorrect.

now my username is my initials and my matric number so its not that and my password is the same as all my other passwords so i dont know why it wont let me in.

my mate told me it doesnt let him on sometimes but couldnt remember if it said he was putting in the wrong name or password.

anyone know whats wrong cos if i've messed somethign up it means im really ****ed as far as work stuff goes till i get it fixed (if its even possible)

apparently the Blackboard system is not just a Scotland or UK thing as I have to use it as well at my uni...

I've had many problems with it as well though, mostly with the courses and exams I was participating in, but sometimes with logging in as well. So far my uni always could help me out with providing me a new password... Maybe you could try contacting someone from your uni, who deals with the whole Blackboard system. There should be at least one person to contact with any problems!

I never really trust Blackboard anymore. Whenever I have to sign up for exams, I always do it manually... it happened to me before that I couldn't participate, because Blackboard messed up  .

Good luck anyway!

when i was at uni, jim, it would never work for me.....one of the reasons i fell so far behind

We use that here too. I've never had any problems logging in but none of my professors actually updates it so I don't use it much.

Nope, not just a UK-thing cause I use it too at my highschool ... Is great cause the teachers post their slides on so we don't have to write them over in class but can just print it out at home :)

Wow, it's global:

UK
USA
Holland (yeah, we use it too)
Belgium

Cool thought.

lol if you actually take a look at the Bb site at blackboard.com, you can find that there are even more countries that use Blackboard ;) ain't it great . Nah I still find it a nasty system... Or maybe it's just my account at the uni that's messed up :? , wouldn't really suprise me actually.

yeah so it turns out that it's a global thing but it doesn't exactly help me get into it

i tried to contact them and you need to sign in to email them. how the **** am i supposed to get in touch with them when my password or whatever isn't working

need to sort it out at uni 2moro but it does get updated and i'm only in mon-wed and it's an hours drive in good traffic away so im not going over there when in theory i cpould be sat on my arse here checking out whats happening.
