Bon Jovi Setlists
Apart from the obvious flux of new songs from Bounce, don't you think the boy's setlists have become a little too stagnant over the past few years? I just watched the Shephards Bush concert, and a great show it was as well. The only gripe was then they played the older stuff I kinda knew what would happen before it happened. Jon seems to do the same moves, say the same things and he did 6 years ago. The ending of Wanted is identical in the same way they play that last chord smiling with Jon and Richie, and Jon and Richie always smiling and doing the same thing when they talk about "taking secrets to their gaves". Even the welcome to Jonny's church for Lay Your Hands on Me. A Little to repetitive for my liking, its time to freshen it up boys. I also think they should play more solo songs.
This is probably going to ask for a vote on everyone's fave setlist for a gig so I am going to add mine 1st :P (max 22 songs) Bounce Runaway It's My Life Wild is the Wind Something to Believe In If I was Your Mother EveryDay Santa Fe Hey God You Give Love A Bad Name Hey Joey Undiscovered Soul Bed of Roses Wanted Dead or Alive Wild in The Streets Dry County Encore 1 These Days Undivded Blaze of Glory Encore 2 Livin On a Prayer (Acoustic) Always Arghh I want to add a few more in, but doesn't that set list look impressive. Doubt many bands in the world can give such a strong and varying setlist |
A little too repetitive, not a little to repetitive.

Re:
I don't think they could ever please everyone with their setlists.
But I do agree , I knew what song was coming just by their actions! But don't forget, they have not rehearsed a new tour yet so they are basicly doing last tours stuff which must still be fresh in their heads as it was not that long ago. (P.S) It's a little bit nasty to just reply to someone's post with a list of spelling mistakes they have made.....lighten up! |
This is mine list:
Bounce Everyday It's My Life Bad Medicine Hey God Undivided Lay Your Hands On Me Born To Be My Baby Wanted Dead Or Alive Runaway You Give Love A Bad Name Bed Of Roses These Days Blaze Of Glory Keep The Faith Encore 1. Something For The Pain Dry County Another reason to believe Encore 2. Livin' On A Prayer KTF, Nat ;) |
i'm quite upset that they always play the same things- i mean the crush tour was nothing but a repeat of the 95' world tour with some new songs... 01' they played raise your hands again- but that was the only surprise apart of two- imho- weak rock'n'rollers in the end...
what i want is completely new setlist- my suggestion is to throw 80% of their HITS out- cause everybody who attended more than one bj show (and thats an impressive number of people per show) have heard them and know them by heart- even the live versions... so i would be happier if they play roulette, fear, wild is the wind, social disease, my guitar lies bleeding..., if i was your mother, i'd die for you, etc. etc. than if they play their hits up and down (ktf, medicine, hands, born to be my baby, prayer, bad name,...) that really gets boring... i've "only" seen them 3 times and next year it'll hopefully be the fourth time- and i really want sth. i haven't seen and heard before! you can not think of how happy i was when they played living in sin 00' i zeltweg- they should do more of those... BTW: does any1 share my oppinion that BJ have forgotten the albums bon jovi, fahrenheit and these days??? they never play anything off bj (ok sometimes they play runaway...), they never play anything from fahrenheit- i think the last time they played sth. was back in 92... and after the td tour i only heard the title track once from td.... i mean: there are lots of fans (like me :-)) who think that td is their best record- and it was unbelievably successful in germany and austria- only in the u.s. it flopped- but they really refuse to play td songs now- i know they sometimes did sth to believe the last tour but that's not enough for such a great album.... |
You have to consider new fans, young fans, fans who haven't seen them live yet.
And who would want to go to a concert and not hear the hits? By the way, the way they do the same things and stuff..um.. ALL ROCK STARS do that. Seriously.. they do. I mean, things go different a lot, but all rock stars do some of the same stuff. It's just the way it goes.. That's what I can say from all of my experiences |
yeah- for sure you have to play some hits- i didn't want to say that they should totally do without them... but there is no reason to come again to a show (i mean the following tour) when you know that they "just" play their hits up and down and some of the new stuff... at the own tour i wondered why i still pay ~50€ and travel through half the country (ok- austria's not big :-)... but by train again 25 € from where i live to vienna and back) just to hear the songs again i have already heard twice??? this is actually crazy- the only thing that had changed was the stage and 5(!!!!!!) songs- it made me think... hey- i'm not even i girl, so there's nothin' to look at closely :P anyway i found out that i'm an addictive and that's why i do that- it's just the atmosphere at the concert site- unfortunately not more :-( but i hope that they play different songs as long as the band exists :-)

BOUNCE TOUR SET LIST
Bounce I'd Die For You Wild In The Streets Silent Night Livin' On A Prayer You Give Love A Bad Name Everyday Born To Be My Baby Just Older Misunderstood Joey Hook Me Up Captain Crash And The Beauty Queen From Mars The Distance Undivided Wanted Dead Or Alive I'll Be There For You It's My Life I'll Sleep When I'm Dead Bad Medicine/Shout ----------------------------------- Bed Of Roses Blood On Blood Keep The Faith ----------------------------------- Edge Of A Broken Heart Runaway ----------------------------------- Never Say Goodbye (Jon & Richie Acoustic) I think the new set would be more or less the same as SBE, unfortunately. It will heaviley feature the "Bounce" album and after realising that the album works much better live than on CD, that ain't such a bad thing. However, it will be the 20TH anniversary tour, so you never know, they may throw in the odd nugget from the first 2 albums or maybe an old "b" side (as you can see from the set list above). I think that this set list would keep both the old and new fans happy although I'd sell my mother to hear the boys play the likes of "Breakout", "Roulette" & "Shot "Through The Heart" again!! |
