It isn't so much the game itself really, though I don't like that much anyway, it is the attitude and the money that I have a problem with moreso. Firstly I don't think that anyone should be paid that much money to do a 'job' which many people would do for free if they could, and in relation to that the ticket prices are ridiculous. The attitude is what we see right now; the flags on cars and houses, people acting like they are somehow part of the team when they win, it is somehow a victory for the whole country, but if/when they lose it is all on the head of the one person who messed up.

I prefer rugby (coming from a rubgy league town) it is much more physically demanding, a more intense and fast paced game, and the fans aren't as mad (I know when England won something last year in rugby union there was a big celebration, but they don't go as mad as over football)

Rant over lol

Don't you think it is ridiculous how things like sport are deemed more credible than any profession that requires any semblence of intelligence?

Becky 06-12-2006 08:13 PM

Yes.

Are athletes overpaid?

Stut 06-12-2006 08:20 PM

Yes. Some even admit that they´re paid silly amounts of $$´s.

Ever played sudoku?

Thomas Anderson 06-12-2006 08:21 PM

Very much so. People worldwide play sports in their sare time for fun, yet these people are being paid ridiculous ammounts of money to play. People who do the most plain and repetitive jobs like working in shops and cleaners and such deserve more pay than someone who kicks a ball around a field or whatever.

The only people who I think should actually be paid more are the ones who really make a difference; police, doctors and firefighters. They deserve more money, not sports-stars.

**edit**

I have played sudoku a bit but don't really like puzzles and such like that

Do you agree with my above point?

Jim Bon Jovi 06-13-2006 04:51 AM

to an extent but as a musician if i was ever to make a fortune of it all you would see is me on stage or on mtv living an easy life and making alot of money doing it.

you wouldnt see the years and years of dedication and extreme hard work to get there, same goes for atheltes. i know people who train every single day for hours because theyre so dedicated to their sport but then people see them play and think, well i do that for fun why do they get paid to do it?

over paid? yes but also underestimated.

you agree?
