Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 03:54 PM

got lots of stuff recorded all over the shop but me n my bro r getting a roland electric drumkit in january so recording drums will be so much easier and im just going to start from scratch and spend as much time as it takes to do it. ill play most of the instruments myself but get my girlfriend to sing on it cos shes brilliant and whereas i can sing a song n all. it wouldnt really do the songs justice.

V wot about u?

tawtami 12-27-2003 04:00 PM

im rewriting some of the songs at the moment...
then i just need to get on and record it...

so what instruments do ^ play?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 04:07 PM

i can play grade 8 guitar pieces but never bothered actually doing grades properly. can play piano/ keyboard (my grandpas iving me a keyboard he doesnt use anymore so thetll help with recording too) bass, drums, a tonne of percussion things, flute, side drum, a bit of singing and am workign my way round my mandolin just now. can do losing my religions mandolin part and smoke on water just for fun :D

V what instruments do u play?

tawtami 12-27-2003 04:26 PM

teaching standard vox, specialise in modern, jazz, blues, show, but still grade 8 classical too,

been aving piano lessons for the last three months, and am at grade 3 at the moment,

grade 8 flautist

also play clarinet, sax, guitar, bass, various percussion instruments, zither, all types of recorder going, irish whistle, um.. thats about it...
for now..

what instrument would you most like to play?

*-- Vallie --* 12-27-2003 04:33 PM

tawtami 12-27-2003 04:36 PM

hehe...

go buy some food in a bit... thats it...
yours?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 04:45 PM

what the ****s a zipher????

instrument i'd love to play.....being able to wail on the saxophone would be pretty cool but im pretty much at where i want to be on most instruments i like besides singing. i'd love to be one of these people who can silence a crowded room singing. sadly i'm not but as i said my girlfri4end is hence y shes singing on my album :D

as for my plans. going to ashleas tonight to have a lazy nite in. watch some dvd's n allt hat. workign tomorrow morning early. should really start studyign tomorrow afternoon but its goin to be hard fightin the urge to hit the pub for the football tho ive hardly drank at all since i finished up uni and dont intend to have a drink this weekend so im pretty pleased with myself.

V ur plans for the weekend?

tawtami 12-27-2003 04:47 PM

ill prolly work on the band folder of music this weekend

jim: do you have anything avaliable to listen to? id like to hear it...

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 04:57 PM

nah ive got 1 of my own tunes and 1 of my bros that i think r recorded well enough to justify the songs but apart from doing stuff on word and coming on here i know pretty much **** all about computers so i dunno how to get stuff from a CD or my mixer onto the internet :?

ive not heard ur tune but give us the link n ill have a listen

V can u help me get my song from a CD onto the net for ur listening pleasure?

tawtami 12-27-2003 05:05 PM

if you have msn and can send it over that in mp3 then yep...
ill see what i can do :)

if you want to listen then go to http://find-me-at-the.blogspot.com and on the left hand side under current theme songs you find a link called exposed- right click and save as[/url]

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 05:34 PM

listening to it just now. that is ****ing class. seriously man great tune
the chord change at the lines need the shelter to hide the pain is really great.

V is that u singing?

tawtami 12-27-2003 06:24 PM

yeah it is... done a couple of years ago now but i still like it.

you do many gigs then?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 06:35 PM

may i say u have the voice of an angel then :)

not done a gig for months. last one we did was a covers thing for my girlfriends aunts silvber anniversary back in june. 4 of us learned 25 songs in less than a week and kicked some ass in the process. was a big change from the usual stuff. when we had a drummer we gigged pretty relentlessly. at one point around this time last year we were doing at least 2 gigs a week for a couple of months, one weekend we did a gig on friday one saturday one sunday one tuesaday and one wednesday. good satuff but it gets tiring u know/

V u gig?

tawtami 12-27-2003 06:47 PM

thank you... not sure i agree lol...

um we did and we will ... sorting a demo at the moment.... hard work...

we once did a 24 hour performathon with some other people- i ended up involved in 13 hours worth of stuff :S

id be less up for gigging with my own stuff.... lol. im way too scared to do that... :S

one day tho....
soon... we will have a demo :S

tawtami 12-27-2003 06:50 PM

what would your dream gig be?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 06:55 PM

well when i started the band i wanted to play a place up here called king tuts/ basically if ur anybody in the UK music wise from the [past decade u've played there and it's where oasis got discovered so its kind of like a mecca for alot of bands. anyways as u can imagine the quality control is pretty high with regards to whot hey let play but we dheadlined it a couple of years ago and that was pretty brilliant.

played downstairs at the barra's too. ndont know anybody else apart from us and the guys that did the gig with us thatve did it but the amount of great bands that have played in the barras main stage is unbelievable. travis played on 2nd level stage in the video for re offender :-)

apart from that i suppose ibrox stadium w9ould be jammign to play. funny that actually. when we played king tuts we were talking to the dude who runs the show there and he knows like everybody so i said have u met bon jovi and it turns out he ran their gig at ibrox in 96 which happened to be my 1st ever gig. small world eh.

V wot about u?

tawtami 12-27-2003 07:06 PM

starting small... i guessthe boardwalk... kinda similar to king tuts i think- but in sheffield...

eventually.. ill settle for sheffield arena... i dont mind- id rather make good music and do small gigs that are good quality and not get paid than large gigs that are less quality and pay well...

how did you record your stuff?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 07:29 PM

the one i tried to send u was recorded in a shitty studio over in the west end. crap amps and board but good drums and it doesnt sound that bad. as for newer stuff we've pretty much got everythign we need to record in my house. once we get the electric drumkit ill be doin all my recording here. the best song weve ever recorded is one of my bros we did over 2 weeks in my house just cos we had the time to mess about and change bits and pieces at our lesiure instead of having to look at the clock.

V what about u?

tawtami 12-27-2003 07:38 PM

yeah... all the stuff iove done as been in house.,... weve got access to a minidisc recorder, pc geared for that (mine is but ive not done any yet), and a HDD recorder...

so what are your influence?

Jim Bon Jovi 12-27-2003 07:49 PM

i dunno it just really depends what im listening too. i dont think theres to much bon jovi in it to be totally honest but its still definetely along those lines. cos there's 3 of us that write for the band 2 songs can sound completely different but i like melodic rock with some nice guitars in it. kinda u2 meets the calling meets flickerstick etc.... i suppose alot of the more melodic stuff on keep the faith sounds like something i'd write. i believe, i want u etc...

V urs?

tawtami 12-27-2003 07:58 PM

my own stuff.....
im really eclectic so its totally random....

although i wrote 'exposed' before anyone had heard of evanescence... which is what people think influenced that...
:S

in terms of a lot of it , im with the melodic rock as well, but slightly more acoustic, as thats my main instrument nowadays, but not really bon jovi...
lots of different people...

Keeper 12-27-2003 10:26 PM
