Am I The Only Who's Bothered By..........
hey guys, i know ill get grilled for this one, but am i the only one whos bothered by the fact jons voice is deply heightened in the recordings? if u've ever heard him live ud know he sounds nothing like his recordings. and its always bothered me, which is why id prefer a live album to a recorded one anyday. am i the only one who prefers his NATURAL voice to his recorded and tampered with one? well, dont grill me too bad for this, lol, cya round,

Great, cuz i feel that way too, it kinda bothers me. It seemed as if his voice was goin out at SBE.

Actually, live, I think he sounds much better. He sounds a lot smoother live. However, on some occasions the guys perform a step down (not all the time, just sometimes)..because the vocalist in a band, singing night after night, can really be affected.

Also, his voice isn't tampered with in recording studios.. (That's what the guys talked about in a recent interview, how so many bands have their vocalists voices tampered with, and how they don't, and how it'd be better if OTHER performers would just let out their natural sound (like Jon!)...

His voice sounds just fine live. He sounds the same live and in the studio. It's not like a carbon copy, but, hey... that's because he actually SINGS while he's performing. He's not bounding up and down, running across the room and slapping hands with people while he's in the recording studio (or I assume he doesn't bounce while recording LOL) and that makes a difference in the sound of his voice. There's a different kind of breathing involved in the recording process and the atheletic concert process. Same voice, different effect.

ive always preferred live songs over recordings because it really does sound better

I dont think it gets much better than a really well recorded studio track on a high end stereo , which I luckily have. I like live performances and when you are singing with it you dont notice the drop or the difference, but I still always like the crispness of a studio track. Bounce is very good sound through the middle songs...although Undivided has the bass up so much only my home stereo handles it, my car cd player sounds terrible for it.
