elements of synth-pop?

Do you remember Ordinary World - song by Duran Duran? I think this pop song is very cool.

Bon Jovi seems to be interested in playing with computers. Do you think they can write something like Ordinary World and still keep their signature sound? Do you think they can successfully implement into pop-metal some elements of synth-pop? It would be interesting to find out if they can do it.

Ordinary World isnt very Synth. IMO Bon Jovi has songs that sound like that which is nice. Just dont go techno :!:

I kind of think they already tried that in songs like Say it isn't so or others, mainly from Crush, which their "popest" album (solo work aside).

The result can turn out good, but I prefer harder stuff.

What style of pop would you say Ordinary World is in? That song is awesome.

I don't know, what are the options? :D

I guess it could exactely define what I consider as pop.
The extremes would be Britney/boy bands as limp-pop on one side, and U2 as pop-rock on the other.

A lot of things could fit in between these...

I don't know who many pop styles there are.

But Ordinary people is def. not Britney. Sounds more like U2. What a song! I would say this song can take on most rock songs. Lyrics is awesome!

I'm wondering how Bon Jovi's cover of this song would sound? Can they pull it off?

Sure they could. They'd turn it from pop to rock I guess. They could make it rock with a big guitar to make that solo a ripping one and stronger lead and backing vocals. Tico could do something better on drums than the original I think.
Can Jon or Richie cope with the high notes in the end? I doubt it, they'd have to find something else...

Bon Jovi should concentrate on getting back to the huge stadium anthems rather than covers of Duran Duran and the likes. TLFR should have been full of the original songs, rather than what is basically an Unplugged album. The Darkness have started a revival of the kind of rock that Bon Jovi do best, so the boys should have took advantage.

That's what they tried to do with Bounce and failed.
