Heritage Classic Today

Today's the day ... the first ever out door NHL hockey game .... here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 60,000 fans will be in attendance - and they'll all be freezing their behinds off in -17' weather. Great day for hockey!! Exactly where it all started - on out door ice - in the dead of winter. Gretzky and the boys will start the day off taking on the Montreal Canadien Old Timers and then that game will be followed by the present day Oilers taking on the present day Canadiens.

Should be a lot of fun!!

Try and stay warm!!

-Ned-

PS. Gretz's daughter Paulina will be singing in between games, she will sing the Sarah McLachlan tune I Will Remember You - maybe I will try and get a copy of it and post it ... I am sure everyone can't wait! :)

Cool this.

I went to see my first ever NHL game last week (Montreal canadien vs Colombus). Had a great time though the game didn't get that interesting before overtime (ended up 1-1 draw).

I don't understand all the rules yet (by the way, I'm french in Canada since last august, that's why NHL is new to me :) ) but look forward to seeing another game.

Ponrauil,

Great to hear ... make sure you tune into the game today ... it's a can't miss game, and it's going to be awesome!!

If you are going to hit another Canadiens game: any game vs. Toronto is usually a good heated battle - on December 22nd, Pittsburgh is playing in Montreal, they don't have a great team, but they have a great French-Canadian goalie, 18 year old M-A Fleury and the one of the best players to ever play the game, Mario Lemieux. Another good game to catch would be on March 16th when Colorado visits - they practically have an all-star team.

Make sure you catch todays game.

Ok, I'll try to catch it, thanks for the tips.

You know "Lemieux" is french translation of "Thebetter"... Destiny...

Hey Naomi!

I'm still looking for those pics ... I think I might have lost the CD that they were on ... I have hard copies, I guess I might have to scan them.

Anyway ... on to the game ... I had tickets to the game, a buddy of mine works for CCM and he got them for us - we were going to take our two boys (they're both 10) - but it's just two damn cold ... so we decided that we'd rather sit at home and watch it (where it's nice and warm). I think that's a better idea. :)

It's going to be great to see - can't wait!!

Hey Naomi - forgot to ask you - what do you think of the new album?

At first I didn't like it, then it kind of grew on me .... I'll probably listen to it for 2 or 3 weeks yet, and then I'll probably shelf it .... I needed the two new songs to keep me happy.

Oh well - I'm sure we'll hear them someday.

Talk to ya' later ...

Oilers alumni defeat the Montreal alumni 2-0 in the alumni game, and Montreal beats Edmonton 4-3 in the regular game. Cool game, and it was -20 out there.

Hey!
yes it was great. I also watched it at home. Never got tickets, but it was way too cold anyway. :)

Anytime you have those photos ready, just let me know and I'll see what I can do for you. Take care!
