sleeping

I was wondering...talking about the fact that Taija an Laura an dTom didn`t get a place to sleep in Ostend...which strange places did you all find to sleep during tour???
I remember we once slept in our car...once we had a hotel in the red light district with th ehookers next to our room. A bit noisy ....and of course outside in fronyt of the stadium....
Besides that we sometimes drove home.. with th ewindows wide open and music soo loud, because I almost fell asleep.( not to forget all th e redbull drinks and caffeinetablets to stay awake)
Sounds crazy!

Well, let's see

29.5. in a train
30.5. at my friend's place
31.5 outside the stadium
1.6. at my friend's place
2.6. outside the stadium
3.6. in a hotel
4.6. at Jana's place
5.6. outside the stadium
6.6. in a train
7.6. outside the stadium
8.6. outside in Brussels as we all know by now
9.6. in a hostel
10.6. outside the stadium
11.6. in a hostel
12.6. outside the stadium
13.6. in a train
14.6-18.6 in a hotel
19.6. in a train
20.6 in a hotel
21.6. outside the stadium
22.6. in a hotel
23.6 outside the stadium
24.6. on the floor in Anu's hotel room
25.6 in a hotel
26.6. at Tom's parent's place
27.6. in a hotel
28.6 in a hotel
29.6 in a hotel
30.6. at the Skavsta airport

That makes 8 nights outside the stadium, 4 nights at friend's places, 14 nights in a hotel/hostel, 4 nights in a train, 1 night at an airport and 1 night on the street :D

I'm weird doing this  :P

when you are telling this to "normal"people they would immediately take you to a psyciatric hospital.

Yet the rest of us either relate to it, or wish we'd had the chance to do the massive tour that Laura and Taija did this summer! LOL.

We ended up in a 5* hotel in Hyde Park...amazing experience!

Hih. I just love doing all kinds of statistics :D Some of you might remember my tour statistics, which songs were played and how many times etc.

Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of sleeping for me. MK 2001 got 2 hours or 3 on the coach back to Manchester but had to keep my wits about me at Birmingham so stayed awake purposefully. Had an exam next day (3 hours English - incidentally got 102/105 with 2 hours revision).

Ostend - well that's common knowledge for everyone now
Wton - basically didn't sleep. Stayed in the Britannia hotel lobby with Laura and Mike McRock - actually we got locked in there. Then I had 2 hours sleep and a train journey and an exam with no revision. It was my worst exam of the 4 in that week.

London - nothing out of the ordinary. Very cold but had a good time the night before.

Glenn Hughes - stayed in a night club in Dudley until 3:30am watching people make fools of themselves... very slowly sobered up over the night (after getting drunkish on Finlandia Vodka). My cousin was pissed off with Virgin Trains since it turned out it didn't stop in Dudley and he had a 4-5 mile walk to come and meet us. Coach to Manchester and slept an hour or so on there... 6am slept in the common room of Manchester University for 2 hours, then too lazy to get the bus home (plus still not running until about 10am!) so got a lift.

Emerson Oct 2002 - Wolverhampton again... refused to sleep because I didn't trust the town with its drunks. Mike fell asleep so I played a trick on him and walked off for a while, leaving him at the bus shelter.

Wishbone Ash 2001-2 - stayed at mike's. Back 1 am... watched a football match and drank... slept at about 6am (had to get up at 6:30am for school) - decided to skip school and got in a lot of trouble for it. We were in the same form for 1 year so our tutor said to us during the register: "Why were you not here this morning?" "slept in" x 2... he then called me back but i pretended to ignore him and kept on walking. Then some first year student called me Jesus Christ or something so I grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up against the wall... teacher walked past and said something so i just let him go, threw him to the floor and continued walking

Hih Taija - you forgot to mention a few...

Sleeping in the corridor of a train, sitting up, I think from Munich to Nice.

Sleeping on a boat on the Seine river, when we were supposed to be watching the beautiful Paris floating by.

I also slept through two countries  Luxembourg and Vienna.

And sleeping in the two-in-one sleeping bag for the first few concerts.

In the beach in Nice.

The whole way from Monaco to Nice, in the bus we took because of the scenic route

I "slept" in Dublin airport. There wernt even any benches left so I tried to sleep on the floor with only a coat but was freezing!! Also at Old Trafford I was supposed to be sleeping outside but ended up talking to a complete stranger and laughing at everyone snoring their heads off!!
