Bounce Review by Kaista
Bon Jovi: Bounce (3/5)
New Jersey´s megaproudness Bon Jovi won´t exactly suprise anyone by opening the album Bounce with Undivided which tells...well, about the 9/11 attacks. Okay, maybe the rising of the positive atmosphere is a little overaccurated but what else can you expect as Bon Jovi is one of most careful underliners of the american culture. So of course it´s obvious for them to write about the event. So nobody´s really suprised that the album is "safe" album which in other words means a quaranteed sales success. The album includes for Bon Jovi typical irritating but catchy rockers ("Everyday") and quaranteed ballads ("Joey") and everything in between. The band has done good work in keeping the album in the humanly frames - 12 tracks and 50 minutes wont anesthetize you in the age of CDs when you might meet 70 minute pieces of rock. It´s also very pleasing to hear guitarist Richie Sambora doing some of those scratchy guitarsounds. At the opposite of all this fun there´s also "All About Lovin´ You" type of honeyboxes. Summa Summanum - Bon Jovi has made an album with sweets full of stomach for the fans but will make it harder for the no-fans as for example the quaranteed single choise "Joey" will be playing on the radio too much. |
