TV Simpsons role for Tony Blair

The Prime Minister is making an appearance on the hit cartoon show The Simpsons.

Tony Blair has provided his voice for the episode, entitled "The Regina Monologues" in which America's favourite cartoon family visit England.

The episode, from the 15th series of the hit show, sees the family coming to London for a holiday and being met by Mr Blair at Heathrow airport who invites them back to No 10 for tea.

After gaining tips on where to visit in London from the Prime Minister, Homer causes chaos by tipping tea from his Union Jack tea cup over the carpet.

Homer also ends up in trouble with the Royal family after he crashes a Mini Cooper into the back of the Queen's horse-drawn carriage and is locked up in the Tower.

The episode, which also features the voices of Harry Potter author JK Rowling and Sir Ian McKellen, is being aired on Fox in America first and is due to be shown in Britain in January

Simpsons are top Christmas choice

Cartoon favourites The Simpsons are the top choice for Brits to spend Christmas with, a survey has found.

Bumbling Homer and co were chosen by more than a quarter of the 1,500 voters in a poll, with MTV stars The Osbournes ranked in second place.

The poll - commissioned to promote The Events Show at London's Olympia on January 27 to 29 - placed work colleagues in third position.

People were asked who other than their own family would they like to spend the festive season with.

In fourth place were the royal family.

The Events Show brings together suppliers of products and services to the events industry.

I caught a little bit of the Simpsons last night. The scene with Sir Ian McKellen is pretty funny.

I saw it last night. It was okay, but not one of their better episodes, considering the people they got to guest.
