Golf... Not A Sport?!?! :X

Being the golfer that I am... I hate when people are like "Golf is not a sport." Golf is the hardest sport in the world when you break it down into pieces. People say it is just hitting a ball and walking. It really isn't just that. You have to be fit just like any other sport. The mentallity of the game is more difficult than any other sport. You have different types of swings, putts, equipment is more expensive. Why wouldn't it be a sport? There are more rules in golf than any other sport. When broken down, you realize it is the hardest sport in the world. There aspects of the swing is difficult to understand. You have different shots for ever hole. You have trees, water, sand... All in which are intended for a challenge. It is the hardest sport in the world and I dare anyone to go out there and try to hit a perfect shot 3 times in a row. I have been playing golf for years. I am very good and I can't go out there and hit every shot I want perfectly. People say you don't have to work as hard. Sure you do... You walk 18 holes, you work-out. You have to be fit to play golf just like every other sport. Tiger Woods is a prime example. The time he puts into practicing everyday proves why he is the best player to walk the face of the earth. So when broken down, golf is really harder than every other sport. I must say I work my ass off to be at the level I am out. Tied for 1st in qualifying is very tough. I played in 30 degree weather, rainy... I wasn't even trained for that. Some of you couldn't take the time to practice that much. Golf is 90 percent mental. You have the wrong mindset, then you are done. I am proud of myself at where I am at. I have had a hole in one in my life. The hardest thing to do in golf is get a hole in one. I get it when I was 15 years old. One year before the best golfer to walk to the face of the earth got his... Jack Nicklaus.. Take the challenge and try to go out and hit 3 perfect shots everytime. I bet you can't do it.

hmmm... I didn't realize it was that difficult..

Then again, I'm not tied for first place golfer, either :D

Congrats again, Ryan!

Ryan

Are you practicing indoors or outdoors?

Stephanie

Outdoors... We aren't rich like colleges to have indoor practice facilities.. :x

You play pasture pool?

Ryan, my heart breaks.... I've just lost all respect for you!

Just kidding.

However, I think golf is the most boring sport on the planet. I took golf as one of my PE's in college. What a waste of time. Colleen and I consistently debated with the teacher about how the sports programs should be done away with because they were costing the school rather than bringing in profits and that the money used for sports should be devoted to academics. He loved us. LOL Actually, I wound up having to take Floxin for a kidney infection for about a month and I couldn't get into sunlight. I spent a month of the class reading golf magazines instead of swatting at balls.

At least where you live, you have the option of practicing outside...Golf is practically finished up here. There are a few indoor ranges, but that's about it...stupid Canadian climate
