Do the lyrics ruin the song?
Would you like some BJ songs that you don't currently like if the subject matter/lyrics were different/better?
I Got The Girl is one example. I might like it if I knew that it wasn't about a middle aged rock star singing about his daughter and the joys of fatherhood. I believe that Everyday might be a (little) bit better if the lyrics weren't crap. The same goes for Undivided, I know I would like it if the lyrics were more subtle. |
Yeah I have to admit...there are certain songs that would be better if they had different lyrics.
The major one in my eyes is Hey God. Generally I like positive songs, not songs where someone is blaming all of their problems on God, when God is actually helping them through their problems!! There are also songs where the lryics are the main reason why I like the song too. An example of that is The Distance (although the music rocks in that song too!) |

I agree about Undivided. The lyrics of that song don't make sense anymore in 2 years, no one will understand "that was my brother lost in the rubble etcetera", since most people will have forgotten the terrorist attacks. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
there we go.
I want to hear lots of other ppl's examples of lyrics that ruin/make songs.......I have to say this is quite a good topic made by KRB. |

all these lyrics are still a lot better than "i wanna rock n roll all night and party everyday" (kiss) or many silly rock songs like that. but i agree, some lyrics could be better and this would also make the whole song better...

however much i like the song, i've always found the 'never say goodbye' lyrics quite poor. not only are they cheesy, they seem quite primitive; as if they were written by a schoolchild. i always thought that song would benefit from better lyrics.
