Do Bon Jovi know....
That the lyrics to many of their songs are incredibly cheesy?
Does Jon realise that the reason 'Save the World' was not chosen for Armageddon was because of the lyrics and the cheesiness, and not because Aerosmith had already recorded a ballad? Nobody can be blind to the obvious hilariousness of many of their lyrics. Do you think they know? Do they write the lyrics like that on purpose to appeal to their target audience? |
probably.

Right and Diane Warren has never written cheesy ballads
You do realize she wrote that song for Armageddon, not Aerosmith. And maybe the fact that Steven Tyler's daughter was in the movie might have had something to do with it? BTW, not disputing the cheesnieness of some Bon Jovi songs though but I happen to like their brand of Cheese Whiz :wink But I like Diane Warren too. |

I may sound like a stupid blind person but I don't think their lyrics are cheesy. I like them all because they all have a meaning in my life.

Yup, probably, seeing as they wrote them. Do they/we care - I doubt it.

Well I guess I am in the target audience as well. My point was that Diane Warren is as "cheesy" as JBJ/RS and anyone else who happens to write with them on certain love ballads . So to Save the World was rejected for its cheesiness when the other choice was a Diane Warren song is kind of amusing. Actrually I don't think cheesy is the right word for their lyrics. I think their lyrics appeal to regular people out there who are not looking for deep meaning or poetry but find something in the songs that appeals to them and talks about their lives- lyrics people can relate to. So no, I don't think the lyrics are cheesyBut again, I must be in that target audience.
