Just some random thoughts on Bounce
 

1. A very solid album. Definitely better than Crush as an album but I think Crush had better individual songs. Bounce as an album is great all the way through but I don't see too many individual songs that stand out.

2. Everyday does not sound like it belongs with the other songs. Its a great song but it just doesn't seem to fit.

3. Open All Night just seems like it builds up for an amazing power ballad but falls short in the chorus. The hook just feels like its left with something missing.

4. Misunderstood is a great song, catchy. But the lyrics are too specific to a situation and I think will not have mass appeal due to that.

5. There seems to be a conscience effort to get credibility as song writers in this album. Even though Joey and Right Side Of Wrong are great songs, there seems to be an attempt to be acknowledged by critics with comparisons to Elton John and Billy Joel.

6. I wish the album was longer.

But all in all I'm really pleased with it. I'm glad its not another Farenheit, Slippery, Jersey, Faith or These Days. Thats the beauty of this band. And also when you hear the live versions [Secret gig, Times Square & the London shows] these songs are definitely a fit with the remaining setlist.
