Did anyone watch......
.....that documentery on BBC2 last night about Airten (sp??) Senna the formula one racing guy??? Im not a fan of Formula one but I found it really interesting to see how even 9 years after his death he's still idolised in Brazil. Such a shame that his live ended while he was so young and talented :(

When Ayrton Senna died in 1994 (?) I took it pretty hard... For weeks I was devastated. I had his poster in the ceiling above my bed for half a year. I still have pages and pages of newspaper articles about his life and death.
I know he's still a huge idol in Brazil, and every year around the time of his death there are remembrances etc. He was one of the best drivers ever, and a very colourful person! |

Yeah, I remember that weekend too. I think on Saturday Ratzenberger died, and then on Sunday Senna. It was the first time Mika Häkkinen got on the podium, he was third. I remember him being the only one to actually celebrate his 3rd place, all the others were very calm because of the accidents. That's when I really started hating Mika Häkkinen, and hated him until 1997 I think... When I realised he was a different person back then.

the regulations brought in after senna's death have killed the sport. it's not about driving ability now, more about who has the most aerodynamic helmet.

I never followed Sena's F1 career, i only started watching after he died. Bu i knew that time he was big. Yeah he come in a catigory of Bruce Lee and all.

football's still more about the game than formula 1. that is definately all about the cars whereas there is still some skill involved in football.
