Christmas Shopping
My best friend invited me to go Christmas shopping with her tomorrow. Should I get something for my mom and brother this year or just forget about it? I know none of us are really in the mood for Christmas, but I wonder if it would brighten things up or just make it worse. What would you do?

I agree with Stephanie. Maybe something little, that just may lighten up things just even a bit. But just being together may be the only thing everyone needs.

I'd get something, it might brighten the day somewhat. I also like the donation to a charity idea.

Maybe you could find a little something for the three of you, just to say that you've got to stick together more then ever, that you all stand as one through this, and that life goes on through the hard times.
The charity idea is a very good one indeed. Ponrauil |
Hi Becky,
What do you think your dad would want you to do ? He loved you all and surely he would want you to exchange gifts and show you love each other . Maybe get a special photo frame to put a pic of him in would be appropiate. Dawn |
Becky, i would definately buy something. Even onyl a small gift(s). I knwo it must be hard for your family right now, but even so...christmas wouldnt be the same without presents.

I also think you should get some small gifts for your mother and brother, there's nothing wrong to show them how much you love them this way, especially because finding right words is hard these days. Big hug for you Becky. |
Becky, definitely buy something !!! A pic or something special about your dad is a very good idea ... And what if you cry?? That's not bad at all ... Let it be girl ...
My grandmother died the day before Christmas and last year my mother got a pic of her and her mum when she was a kid (she didn't even know the pic existed ...) She cried but was happy !!! |
