Win MX advice please
 

Hello Folks,

My daughter is trying Win Mx and we need advice please from all you win mx users.

Downloads are really slow even though we r on broadband, is it because we are not choosing the fastest files? We dont understand what files are quicker than others, we dont understand the server column like 0 of 6 or 6 of 6. Is it colour coded?

I would appreciated anyone who could explain it better to us.

cos your always having problems lol

with download speeds chose the bigger bitrate files, 320 would be better, that should go nice and fast

and the server column is just like how many peaople sharing, i dont use it much but go for gree lol usually the top ones

dawn, i think its depends on how many people share the song. the more people share it, the faster it is. but that is just my guess, i dont really know much about it

no the speed is determind on the other person, your downloading off them so if they are only on dial up then its going to go slow

We used to be really happy using Kazaa lite , then the pc crashed and we cant get it back properly, + Kazaa are ahving lots of legal problems so wondering if its worth it. A lot of files on Kazaa have disppeared already. This is why we are trying new ones, Gluz, Win Mx, Grokster,.

What do other people use and why have you chosen to use this?

me thinks you should TOTALLY reformat your pc, clear absolutely everything then start off and just use Direct Connect (DC++)

The ones that come up first with the highest Bitrate are usually the fastest. I just keep clicking on a bunch until I get one to download.

The pc crashed, so there is nothing on it now, no gluz, grokster etc. Only Winmx.

Why would we need to reformat to use DC++? , by the way it looks really good, so will try it.
